1: The number of top-10 finishes posted by Richard Childress Racing driver Paul Menard in NASCAR Sprint Cup Series races at Auto Club Speedway. Menard finished eighth in Sunday’s Auto Club 400, shattering his previous best result of 16th at the two-mile track. That left Menard eighth in the Cup standings through five races. Menard came to Fontana as the only driver to maintain a top-10 points position through four races each year from 2010 through the current season. At a track crew chief Slugger Labbe considers one of Menard’s worst (23.2 average finish after Sunday’s eighth-place run), the driver of the No. 27 Chevrolet SS kept himself in position for a good finish and closed the deal, keeping himself in a Chase-eligible position in the standings.
