Greg Steadman has been in racing since he was a child. Almost as soon as he was able to tote a wrench, Steadman helped his father and uncle work on cars. Becoming increasingly fascinated with cars and racing as he grew older, Steadman developed a dream of one day working in the highest ranks of motorsports.
In 1994, Steadman packed his bags and moved from Tampa, Fla., to North Carolina to pursue his dream of a full-fledged career in auto racing. By early January 1995, Steadman had fulfilled the first part of his dream -- he walked into the famed shop of Petty Enterprises as an employee. He hasn't considered working anywhere else since.
