Mike Ford jumped to Robert Yates Racing in 2004 and serves as the head wrench for the No. 88 team of Dale Jarrett.
For three seasons, Ford headed the ship of the No. 9 Dodge of Bill Elliott. During his tenure at Evernham Motorsports, Ford led Elliott to an average finish of 11th in the Cup point standings. The highwater mark was 2003, when Elliott finished ninth.
Back in 2000, Ford experienced the phenomenon known as "crew chief by committee" with owner/driver Elliott, helping him garner a 21st place finish in the points standings. | |
