Tommy Baldwin Jr., a native of Bellport N.Y., continues to prove that he is one of the best crew chiefs in NASCAR's elite series.
Like so many NASCAR drivers and crew members, Baldwin's involvement in racing was inspired by his family. His father competed in the Featherlite Modified Series for many years and the younger Baldwin was there learning the ropes.
His career as crew chief began in 1997 with veteran car owner Junie Donlavey. He joined Bill Davis Racing at the end of the 1998 season and stayed with the team until 2002. After two years calling the shots for the No. 7 Ultra Motosports team and Jimmy Spencer, he's now the head wrench for Kasey Kahne's No. 9 team for Evernham Motorsports.
Baldwin also acts as team owner and crew chief in the NASCAR Busch Series. Tommy Baldwin Racing fields No. 6 Dodges in the NBS.
