After nearly 20 years in the garage, Todd Parrott was given his first opportunity as crew in the fall of 1995, when he accepted a position at Robert Yates Racing as the crew chief for Ernie Irvan.
Parrott teamed up with driver Dale Jarrett and the No. 88 team for the 1996 season.
Winning seemed natural as the new team finished third in the final championship point standings. During the 1997 season the No. 88 team posted seven victories en route to a runner-up finish in the championship standings. In 1998, the team notched another three wins and a one million dollar No Bull 5 Bonus at Talladega Superspeedway.
In 1999, Parrott called Jarrett to Victory Lane four times, including a win at the legendary Indianapolis Motor Speedway. That year, the pair brought home the first NASCAR championship trophy for team owner Robert Yates.
Parrott served as General Manager for Robert Yates Racing briefly in 2003, then resumed crew chief duties for Elliott Sadler and the No. 38 team in August 2003.
