1933: George Altheide, who started 16 Cup races in 1971-72, is born on this day. Altheide finished 27th in his debut, the 1971 Winston 500 at Talladega. His best finish was 15th, which he accomplished twice -- in the Texas 500 at Texas World Speedway in College Station in December 1971 and the 1972 Daytona 500.
