1959: Jeff Davis, the driver not the former U.S. senator and president of the Confederacy, is born on this day. Davis started three Cup races in the '90s. His best finish, 26th, came in his first start, in November 1992 at Phoenix. His other two starts came at Infineon, finishing 42nd in 1993 and 37th in 1997.
