Lap 208 -- CHECKERED FLAG: One day past his 20th birthday, Trevor Bayne wins the Daytona 500 in the famed No. 21 car.

Lap 207 -- WHITE FLAG: Trevor Bayne has help from Bobby Labonte. Kurt Busch and Juan Montoya are coming.

Lap 206 -- GREEN FLAG: Trevor Bayne is in the lead but was told to save fuel before the restart. Tony Stewart is on the outside and restarts second. Bobby Labonte moves into second as Kurt Busch charges through the middle.

Lap 205 -- Trevor Bayne becomes the leader.

Lap 204 -- David Ragan is headed to pit road and Dale Jr.'s No. 88 gets a tow to the garage.

Lap 203 -- YELLOW FLAG NO. 16: David Ragan is black-flagged for changing lanes too soon on the restart. Robby Gordon gets loose but saves the car. As drivers avoid Gordon, they connect and wreck. Dale Earnhardt Jr. has heavy damage. Ryan Newman goes into the wall and collects Martin Truex Jr. as Kyle Busch heads to pit road.

Lap 202 -- GREEN FLAG: David Ragan leads the field to green from the outside. Trevor Bayne is on the inside. Kyle Busch thinks he has a tire going down.

Lap 199 -- David Ragan and Trevor Bayne are out front and both cars have proved to be nothing short of lightning fast today. Behind them, Kurt Busch and Kyle Busch agree to work with each other on the restart. Dale Eanrhardt Jr. thinks his tire is going down on the No. 88 and he heads to pit road.

Lap 197 -- YELLOW FLAG NO. 15: Regan Smith gets turned by Kurt Busch. Denny Hamlin will head to pit road for new tires. Clint Bowyer sustains heavy damage. Dale Jr. escapes on the low side.

Lap 196 -- David Ragan and Trevor Bayne join the party and lay down the fastest lap of the race. They're running 3-4.

Lap 195 -- Regan Smith moves to the front with a push from Kurt Busch.

Lap 194 -- It's a 10-car party up front as drivers settle into their final pairings.

Lap 193 -- Eight cars are packed together up front. Clint Bowyer gets help from Kyle Busch and moves toward the front as Denny Hamlin loses touch with Ryan Newman.

Lap 192 -- Ryan Newman and Denny Hamlin are fast up front. Clint Bowyer -- in third -- can't catch the pair. Jamie McMurray is lapped.

Lap 190 -- Dale Earnhardt Jr. slides to the side of Tony Stewart for some clean air. Soon, all drivers will be ignoring their temperature gauges as they race to the checkers.

Lap 188 -- Tony Stewart and Dale Jr. are making a move toward the front. Ryan Newman and Denny Hamlin aren't in a hurry to give up the lead.

Lap 187 -- Ryan Newman maintains the lead with Denny Hamlin on his bumper.

Lap 186 -- Dale Earnhardt Jr. hooks up with Tony Stewart as the two run 3-4.

Lap 185 -- GREEN FLAG: Ryan Newman leads the field to green on the outside. Denny Hamlin is on the inside in second.

Lap 183 -- There have been 69 lead changes to this point. Ryan Newman remains the race leader.

Lap 182 -- YELLOW FLAG NO. 14: Kasey Kahne is into the wall after a tire goes flat. Jamie McMurray drops a cylinder. Carl Edwards is on pit road, despite it being closed. The No. 99 ran over the brake rotor of Kahne.

Lap 181 -- Dave Blaney drops back to 12th. Dale Earnhardt settles into 11th.

Lap 179 -- Denny Hamlin pushes Ryan Newman back into the lead but Clint Bowyer and Kyle Busch aren't going away.

Lap 178 -- Martin Truex Jr. remains on the lead lap. Clint Bowyer leads.

Lap 177 -- Kyle Busch pushes Clint Bowyer to the lead. Martin Truex Jr. slides through the track and slows down pit road.

Lap 175 -- David Ragan finds the front with Trevor Bayne on his bumper. Dave Blaney is up to seventh.

Lap 174 -- Regan Smith hooks up with Kurt Busch in seventh. Kyle Busch looks to assist Clint Bowyer in 11th.

Lap 173 -- Paul Menard finds the third spot with help from Tony Stewart, who reports his heart is about to jump out of his firesuit.

Lap 172 -- Kyle Busch gets loose but saves the car. Ryan Newman moves to the front with Denny Hamlin on his bumper. Joey Logano heads to pit road.

Lap 171 -- Dale Earnhardt Jr. slides to the bottom without any help and takes the lead, but without a drafting partner, Jr. drops quickly.

Lap 170 -- GREEN FLAG: Denny Hamlin leads the field to green on the inside. Ryan Newman is in second, followed by Trevor Bayne and David Ragan.

Lap 167 -- YELLOW FLAG NO. 13: Brad Keselowski hits the wall. Regan Smith gets turned but doesn't have damage. Joey Logano has damage. Juan Montoya slips by trouble. Denny Hamlin and Ryan Newman run fast around the track and stay out front. Jamie McMurray slides into third. Kyle Busch declines Carl Edwards' offer to draft with him, telling Edwards that Trevor Bayne asked first to pair with the No. 18.

Lap 165 -- Juan Montoya moves into third.

Lap 164 -- Denny Hamlin jumps out front as Ryan Newman settles in behind the No. 11.

Lap 163 -- GREEN FLAG: Ryan Newman leads the field to green and will look for a push from Denny Hamlin, who is on the outside for the restart. Dale Eanrhardt Jr. settles into third. The Daytona 500 has had 62 lead changes -- a new race record.

Lap 159 -- Pit road is open and most of the field pits. Ryan Newman takes fuel only. Dale Jr. avoids debris near his stall, takes two tires and fuel. Kurt Busch takes fuel. Ryan Newman maintains the lead off pit road. Brad Keslelowski missed his pit box. Trevor Bayne takes fuel only and has no plans to come back down pit road.

Lap 158 -- YELLOW FLAG NO. 12: Travis Kvapil slams into the wall again. Pit road is closed. This caution sets a new record for the 500.

Lap 157 -- Regan Smith and Dale Earnhardt Jr. make the switch as Dale Jr. takes his turn pushing Smith around the track.

Lap 156 -- Kurt Busch and Mark Martin hook up and look to challenge for the lead.

Lap 155 -- Ryan Newman remains the leader with Denny Hamlin on his bumper.

Lap 152 -- Ryan Newman joins the party up front with a push from Denny Hamlin. Dale Jr. and Regan Smith fall off the pace.

Lap 151 -- Brad Keselowski finds the fourth spot, followed by Clint Bowyer.

Lap 149 -- Drivers are finding different drafting partners as Dale Jr. and Regan Smith remain out front and open up the biggest lead of the race.

Lap 148 -- Dale Jr. leads another lap as Kyle Busch and Joey Logano hook up to mount a charge.

Lap 147 -- Dale Earnhardt Jr. takes the lead with help from Regan Smith.

Lap 146 -- GREEN FLAG: Martin Truex Jr. leads the field to green and is looking to hook up with Tevor Bayne at first opportunity.

Lap 144 -- Clint Bowyer pits and will take four tires and fuel. Paul Menard stalls the car. Jamie McMurray takes four tires. Thirteen drivers stay out, led by Martin Truex Jr.

Lap 143 -- YELLOW FLAG NO. 11: Juan Montoya spins but saves the car heading to pit road. Greg Biffle is involved and sustains damage to the right side of the No. 16. Kurt Busch escapes damage by diving hard to the inside of the track.

Lap 142 -- Jamie McMurray finds a new drafting partner in Dale Earnhardt Jr.

Lap 141 -- Clint Bowyer and Paul Menard hook up. Martin Truex Jr. and Trevor Bayne hook up to draft. Truex takes the lead.

Lap 140 -- GREEN FLAG: Clint Bowyer leads the field to green. Paul Menard is second. Tony Stewart restarts in third, followed by Kyle Busch and Trevor bayne.

Lap 137 -- Pit road is open. Dale Jr. is the first to pit followed by Kurt Busch. Busch takes fuel and is off. Dale Jr. takes fuel only.

Lap 136 -- Twenty-six cars remain on the lead lap.

Lap 134 -- YELLOW FLAG NO. 10: Matt Kenseth catches the wall and goes for a spin down through the grass. Greg Biffle appears to have made contact and may have damage.

Lap 133 -- Dale Earnhardt Jr. is creeping toward the front and is running in fifth.

Lap 131 -- RCR cars remain on the point as Clint Bowyer leads with help from Paul Menard. Matt Kenseth is one lap down.

Lap 130 -- Bobby Labonte falls off the pace.

Lap 128 -- Clint Bowyer finds Paul Menard as the two lead the field.

Lap 127 -- GREEN FLAG: Martin Truex Jr. leads the field to green with Clint Bowyer on the outside.

Lap 124 -- Pit road is open. Clint Bowyer takes fuel only. Martin Truex Jr. takes fuel only. Joey Logano takes two tires. Kyle Busch takes two tires. Kurt Busch takes four tires. Martin Truex Jr. leads off pit road.

Lap 123 -- YELLOW FLAG NO. 9: Travis Kvapil is back on pit road. Kyle Busch and Joey Logano are a fast pair out front, followed by Martin Truex Jr. and Trevor Bayne.

Lap 122 -- Trevor Bayne pushes Martin Truex Jr. to the front.

Lap 120 -- With 80 laps to go, the Daytona 500 has seen 47 lead changes and 18 different leaders. Kyle Busch has his eye on the front with a push from Joey Logano.

Lap 118 -- Paul Menard finds the front with a push from Clint Bowyer.

Lap 117 -- Kurt Busch and Regan Smith won't go away and pass Martin Truex Jr. as Busch takes the lead.

Lap 116 -- Martin Truex Jr. takes the lead with a push from Trevor Bayne.

Lap 115 -- Trevor Bayne has spent most of his day pushing others to the front and maintains a spot in the top 10.

Lap 114 -- Clint Bowyer runs through the middle of the track and takes the lead.

Lap 113 -- Kurt Busch leads by a narrow margin over Martin Truex Jr.

Lap 112 -- Kurt Busch leads as Martin Truex Jr. gets a push from Trevor Bayne to challenge for the lead.

Lap 110 -- Kurt Busch vaults to the front with a push from Regan Smith. Dale Jr. and Tony Stewart now hook up and try to get to the front.

Lap 109 -- GREEN FLAG: Robby Gordon leads the field to green and will look for someone to push as he hammers down the throttle.

Lap 108 -- The field pits. Ryan Newman takes four tires. Kurt Busch takes right side tires only and fuel. Trevor Bayne takes four tires and fuel. A.J. Allmendinger takes four tires. Robby Gordon is the first off pit road.

Lap 107 -- YELLOW FLAG NO. 8: Juan Montoya spins. The No. 42 heads to pit road for new tires with little damage.

Lap 105 -- Trevor Bayne has a fast car today and has done a good job of pushing different drivers around the track. Currently, Bayne and Robby Gordon remain paired and as Gordon takes the lead for the second time Sunday.

Lap 104 -- Dale Jr. continues to draft with Kasey kahne as the two settle into the middle of the pack.

Lap 102 -- Ryan Newman and Joey Logano prove strong out front. Regan Smith and Kurt Busch are moving toward the front.

Lap 101 -- Ryan Newman and Joey Logano remain paired together and race to the front of the pack.

Lap 100 --Jamie McMurray runs straight to the front with Juan Montoya on his bumper.

Lap 99 -- Kurt Busch has led the most lap so far with 14.

Lap 96 -- Robby Gordon gets a push from Trevor Bayne and finds the front.

Lap 95 -- Kurt Busch and Regan Smith find the front, but Robby Gordon is on his way.

Lap 94 -- Jeff Burton blows an engine and is rolling to the garage.

Lap 92 -- Kurt Busch finds the front with Regan Smith on his bumper.

Lap 88 -- Clint Bowyer maintains the lead.

Lap 87 -- Clint Bowyer and Jeff Burton have made their switch and raced back to the front.

Lap 86 -- Martin Truex Jr. and Carl Edwards find the front as Truex claims the lead.

Lap 85 -- Joey Logano says the car is getting loose and he's worried about being able to push Ryan Newman much longer.

Lap 84 -- Dale Jr. and Kasey Kahne run 3-4 and are trying to close on Ryan Newman and Joey Logano.

Lap 83 -- Ryan Newman and Joey Logano blow through the field and into the lead.

Lap 82 -- Jamie McMurray takes the lead with help from Juan Montoya. Regan Smith has to come back down pit road with a flap coming off the car.

Lap 81 -- Dale Jr. and Kasey Kahne settle into the draft and maintain their position out front.

Lap 80 -- Jamie McMurray and Juan Montoya pair to give Dale Jr. and Kasey Kahne a challenge for the front.

Lap 79 -- Dale Jr. hooks up with Kasey Kahne to claim the lead.

Lap 78 -- GREEN FLAG: Clint Bowyer leads the field to green with Dale Earnhardt Jr. on the outside.

Lap 77 -- YELLOW FLAG NO. 7: Travis Kvapil gets loose. Jeff Burton has clean air out front. Kurt Busch settles into fifth. Jamie McMurray claims the final spot in the top 10.

Lap 76 -- Dale Jr. and Kasey Kahne swap positions on the track.

Lap 75 -- Tony Stewart rounds out the top 10.

Lap 74 -- Jamie McMurray and Juan Montoya have settled into 10-11 as Jeff Burton takes the lead after making the switch with Clint Bowyer.

Lap 73 -- The Daytona 500 has had 26 lead changes at this point.

Lap 72 -- Clint Bowyer and Jeff Burton are out front.

Lap 71 -- Dale Jr. is in third and can't find room to make a move on the high side.

Lap 70 -- Dale Earnhardt Jr. is creeping toward the front with help from Kasey Kahne in the No. 4.

Lap 69 -- Regan Smith and Kurt Busch claim another lap out front. Smith becomes the 14th driver to lead the race.

Lap 68 -- Regan Smith leads the field after switching with Kurt Busch.

Lap 67 -- Brad Keselowski gets a push into third from Paul Menard.

Lap 66 -- Jeff Burton leads the field after making the switch with Clint Bowyer.

Lap 65 -- Joey Logano and Tony Stewart drop back to 7-8. Kurt Busch and Regan Smith continue to pair up and push each other around the track.

Lap 64 -- Kasey Kahne rounds out the top 10.

Lap 63 -- Joey Logano and Tony Stewart crack the top five and are mounting a charge.

Lap 62 -- Jamie McMurray and Juan Montoya drop back to 17-18.

Lap 61 -- Jimmie Johnson is back on track. Kurt Busch finds the front.

Lap 60 -- GREEN FLAG: Jamie McMurray leads the field to green. Twenty-nine cars remain on the lead lap.

Lap 59 -- Juan Montoya and Jamie McMurray have made their way to the front again.

Lap 58 -- The leaders pit. Clint Bowyer says the car is loose, takes fuel only. Jeff Burton takes fuel only. Dale Jr. hooks up with Kasey Kahne and takes a splash of fuel on pit road. Clint Bowyer loses three spots coming off pit road.

Lap 57 -- YELLOW FLAG NO. 6: Brian Vickers has stalled. Mark Martin gets the free pass.

Lap 56 -- Drivers don't seem to mind racing three wide through the turns of Daytona. Brian Vickers is off the pace.

Lap 55 -- Clint Bowyer and Jeff Burton fights off a challenge from Kasey Kahne.

Lap 54 -- Clint Bowyer takes the lead with Jeff Burton on his bumper.

Lap 53 -- Clint Bowyer and Jeff Burton hook up and mount a charge toward the front. They're running 3-4.

Lap 52 -- Regan Smith dances with Paul Menard as the two run out front with clean air.

Lap 51 -- Kurt Busch finds the front, then gives the lead to Paul Menard after Dave Blaney loses his drafting partner.

Lap 50 -- GREEN FLAG: Terry Labonte leads the field to green.

Lap 49 -- Terry Labonte and Dave Blaney are out front.

Lap 48 -- Trevor Bayne pits and takes fuel. Kurt Busch hits his marks and takes fuel only. Jamie McMurray is tight and calls for an adjustment. Greg Biffle is out of the garage and on the track with a new radiator.

Lap 47 -- YELLOW FLAG NO. 5: With Dave Blaney running out front, Robert Richardson Jr. is into the wall. The No. 37 sustains heavy damage.

Lap 45 -- Paul Menard has made his way toward the front again and is looking for a drafting partner. Clint Bowyer cracks the 200 mph barrier and becomes the fastest car in the track.

Lap 44 -- Brad Keselowski holds off Tony Stewart for the lead.

Lap 43 -- Tony Stewart finds the front with Jeff Burton.

Lap 42 -- Paul Menard drops back to 11th and appears to be slowing.

Lap 41 -- Brad Keselowski and Regan Smith prove to be a fast pair around the track. Jimmie Johnson prepares to enter the race.

Lap 40 -- Brad Keselowski leads another lap.

Lap 39 -- Regan Smith pushed Brad Keselowski to the front.

Lap 38 -- Martin Truex Jr. and Dale Earnhardt Jr. continue to pair up and push each other around the track. The two crack the top five and will give Tony Stewart a run for him money through the turns.

Lap 37 -- Fourteen cars are working on the No. 48 inside the garage. Jimmie Johnson has yet to exit the car. Paul Menard takes the lead with help from teammate Clint Bowyer.

Lap 36 -- Jamie McMurray maintains the lead with Juan Montoya on his bumper. Paul Menard and Clint Bowyer connect and mount a charge to the front.

Lap 35 -- GREEN FLAG: Jamie McMurray leads the field to green with Juan Montoya looking to hook up. Marcos Ambrose watches as his team brings a new front end into the garage. Ambrose seems confident he'll get back on track.

Lap 34 -- It's a wild scene in the garage as Jeff Gordon says his chances of winning the Daytona 500 are over. He criticizes the field for getting too packed in so early in the race and says the field should have thinned out more than it did.

Lap 33 -- The latest count has 17 cars involved in the Big One. Kurt Busch heads to pit road and slides through his stall, takes four tires. Dale Jr. takes four tires.

Lap 32 -- Martin Truex Jr. rounds out the top 10.

Lap 31 -- Teammates Jamie McMurray and Juan Montoya are out front under caution.

Lap 30 -- Three of the four Hendrick cars are in the garage (Dale Jr. remains on the track). Greg Biffle is in the garage. David Reutimann says it would take a miracle for him to get back in the race.

Lap 29 -- YELLOW FLAG NO. 4: The Big One: Michael Waltrip gets into David Reutimann, causing a chain reaction that wrecks nearly half the field. Jeff Gordon, Jimmie Johnson and Mark Martin sustain damage.

Lap 28 -- After dropping back to the rear of the field to start the race, Dale Earnhardt Jr. has worked his way into the top five. Junior Nation waits on the edge of their seats.

Lap 27 -- Clint Bowyer leads the lap, but jamie McMurray and Juan Montoya are inching closer to the front.

Lap 26 -- GREEN FLAG: Clint Bowyer leads the field to green. When Tony Stewart stopped to get fuel, his team noticed oil on the front of his bumper. Stewart will be finding a new drafting partner.

Lap 25 -- Jeff Gordon is back on the track with minor damage. Kyle Busch is still having trouble with the front end of the No. 18. Kevin Harvick is in the garage and climbing out of his car. Harvick's last DNF for a blown engine: 152 races ago.

Lap 24 -- Tony Stewart pits, takes fuel only. Jeff Gordon heads to his stall to check for damage. Dale Jr. takes fuel only. Juan Montoya maintains his lead, followed by Jamie McMurray.

Lap 22 -- YELLOW FLAG NO. 3: Kevin Harvick blows an engine. Robby Gordon checks up and Jeff Gordon hits hit from behind.

Lap 21 -- Juan Montoya finds the front with Jamie McMurray.

Lap 20 -- Jamie McMurray and Juan Montoya time their swap perfectly for clean air and give up few positions on the track. Greg Biffle hooks up with Carl Edwards to run 7-8.

Lap 19 -- Sixteen cars are out front in eight pairs of two. Paul Menard holds a slight lead, but Jamie McMurray is on his way to the front.

Lap 18 -- Trevor Bayne hooks up with Jeff Gordon and goes to school on drafting.

Lap 17 -- Paul Menard finds the front with a push from Tony Stewart.

Lap 16 -- Bobby Labonte and Brad Keselowski break away from the field but Paul Menard and Tony Stewart connect and give them a run for their money.

Lap 15 -- GREEN FLAG: Brad Keselowski leads the field to green. Bobby Labonte leads the lap.

Lap 14 -- Dale Earnhardt Jr. learns from his spotter that he's having a tough time seeing the caution lights. The No. 88 team thinks they may have a tire going soft.

Lap 13 -- Brad Keselowski elects not to pit and will get credit for leading a lap.

Lap 12 -- Jimmie Johnson pits, takes fuel. Jeff Gordon takes fuel. Kevin Harvick pits with Matt Kenseth as the two take fuel only.

Lap 11 -- YELLOW FLAG NO. 2: J.J. Yeley has smoke coming from the car and may be laying some oil down on the track. Dale Jr.'s spotter is slow to announce the caution -- and with Martin Truex Jr. on his bumper -- gets loose but manages to save the No. 88 by falling under the yellow line.

Lap 10 -- A.J. Allmendinger elects the low side, making way for Jeff Gordon and Brian Vickers, who have hooked up on the outside through Turn 2.

Lap 9 -- Mark Martin continues to push A.J. Allmendinger with success as the two move to the front.

Lap 8 -- GREEN FLAG: Kevin Harvick leads the field to green. A.J. Allmendinger is on the outside.

Lap 7 -- Kyle Busch heads to pit road to have his toe plate checked and to have the front end on the No. 18 aligned.

Lap 5 -- YELLOW FLAG NO. 1: Kyle Busch gets a shove from Michael Waltrip, slides through the grass and brings out the first caution of the day.

Lap 4 -- A.J. Allmendinger and Mark Martin hook up and ride toward the front.

Lap 3 -- Fans stand and raise three fingers while observing a lap of silence in memory of Dale Earnhardt.

Lap 2 -- Regan Smith hooks up with Kurt Busch.

Lap 1 -- Kurt Busch stays out front and leads the first lap.

1:29 p.m. -- GREEN FLAG: Kurt Busch brings the field to the green and the Daytona 500 is under way.

1:20 p.m. -- The cars are off pit road and taking their warm-up laps. Dale Jr. will drop to the back of the field as Kurt Busch moves up and prepares to lead the field to green with Jeff Gordon on the outside.

1:17 p.m. -- Josh Duhamel, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and movie director Michael Bay give the command: "Gentlemen, start your engines!"

1:11 p.m. -- Recording artist Martina McBride performs the national anthem.

1:10 p.m. -- Rev. Dr. L. Ronald Durham, senior pastor of the Greater Friendship Baptist Church of Daytona Beach, delivers the Invocation.

Noon -- Pre-race coverage of the Daytona 500 is under way on FOX.

10:45 a.m. ET -- It is a beautiful day in Daytona Beach, Fla., for the Great American Race. It's currently 71 degrees under mostly sunny skies and should remain sunny throughout the afternoon. Green for the Daytona 500 is scheduled for 1:29 p.m.
