Lap 267 -- CHECKERED FLAG: After heartbreak in Phoenix last week, Carl Edwards rebounded in a big way at Las Vegas for his second win at the track and third in his past five Cup starts.

Lap 266 -- WHITE FLAG: Carl Edwards remains out front as Tony Stewart attempts to close.

Lap 263 -- Tony Stewart moves back to second after passing Juan Montoya.

Lap 260 -- Carl Edwards is showing no sign of giving up the lead with seven laps to go. The No. 99 is out front by 2.2 seconds.

Lap 258 -- Ryan Newman moves into fifth.

Lap 254 -- Carl Edwards will soon have to weave the No. 99 through lapped traffic.

Lap 251 -- Kurt Busch moves into 10th.

Lap 250 -- Carl Edwards increases his lead ahead of Juan Montoya. The No. 99 is out front by 1.6 seconds.

Lap 248 -- Tony Stewart does battle with Juan Montoya for second.

Lap 245 -- Tony Stewart is on the move and in third, just behind Juan Montoya. Carl Edwards leads by 1.1 seconds.

Lap 244 -- David Reutimann pits as Carl Edwards takes the lead. Reutimann takes two ties and fuel.

Lap 243 -- David Reutimann moves to the front. Kurt Busch pits and takes two tires. Matt Kenseth takes two tires. Clint Bowyer pits with David Ragan. Casey Mears is on pit road.

Lap 242 -- Clint Bowyer stays out and has the lead. Tony Stewart is in eighth. Joey Logano has a tire violation on pit road and will serve a penalty.

Lap 241 -- Carl Edwards takes two tires and fuel. Marcos Ambrose takes two tires. Martin Truex Jr. takes four tires. Juan Montoya takes two tires and fuel.

Lap 240 -- Dale Jr. is on pit road with Ryan Newman on his bumper. Dale Jr. takes four tires and fuel. Newman takes right-side tires only.

Lap 239 -- Greg Biffle and his pit crew continue to struggle with fuel issues as Biffle drives off without a second can of gas.

Lap 238 -- Brian Vickers pits, takes two tires and fuel.

Lap 236 -- Kevin Harvick pits, takes two tires. Jimmie Johnson pits with a tight car, takes four tires. Jeff Burton misses his mark.

Lap 234 -- Tony Stewart pits under green. Juan Montoya takes the lead. Stewart takes four tires and fuel and is out of his stall in 13.7 seconds.

Lap 229 -- Tony Stewart remains out front with a 4.2-second lead ahead of Juan Montoya.

Lap 228 -- Jimmie Johnson finds the 14th spot.

Lap 225 -- Denny Hamlin moves into seventh.

Lap 222 -- Tony Stewart is fast out front, more than 3 seconds ahead of Juan Montoya. Dale Jr. moves into sixth and is running the same lap times as the No.14.

Lap 221 -- Martin Truex Jr. says the car is more free on this run.

Lap 220 -- Carl Edwards passes Martin Truex Jr. for third.

Lap 219 -- Matt Kenseth and Trevor Bayne touch in Turn 4 but recover.

Lap 218 -- Paul Menard moves into 10th as Brian Vickers drops to 11th.

Lap 215 -- Twenty-three cars remain on the lead lap.

Lap 214 -- Tony Stewart is out front by 2.45 seconds.

Lap 210 -- Denny Hamlin is in eighth and doing battle for seventh with Ryan Newman.

Lap 208 -- So far so good on two tires for Tony Stewart as the No. 14 has a 2.1-second lead ahead of Juan Montoya.

Lap 207 -- Dale Jr. is on the bumper of Martin Truex Jr. and is trying to take third away.

Lap 205 -- Carl Edwards and Dale Jr. do battle for fourth.

Lap 204 -- Brian Vickers is up to eighth after passing Joey Logano on the inside.

Lap 203 -- Tony Stewart gets off to a good start and keeps the lead.

Lap 202 -- GREEN FLAG: Tony Stewart leads the field back to green, followed by Juan Montoya, Martin Truex Jr. and Carl Edwards.

Lap 199 -- Jimmie Johnson falls back to 12th.

Lap 198 -- The field heads down pit road. Carl Edwards takes four tires, fuel. Dale Jr. takes tires, fuel. Martin Truex Jr. says the car is strong and elects to make no adjustments. Tony Stewart gambles with two tires, moves up 14 spots and takes back the lead.

Lap 197 -- Matt Kenseth will get the free pass. Pit road is closed.

Lap 196 -- Denny Hamlin slides into 10th, now that Jeff Gordon is out of the race.

Lap 195 -- Jeff Gordon is in the garage and out of the race.

Lap 194 -- YELLOW FLAG NO. 7: Jeff Gordon cuts a tire and is into the wall in Turn 4.

Lap 192 -- Twenty-three cars remain on the lead lap. Greg Biffle is back on pit road and is taking fuel.

Lap 190 -- Marcos Ambrose has worked his way back into the top five. Ambrose reports the car is getting faster and is the best its been since arriving at Las Vegas.

Lap 187 -- Carl Edwards is showing no sign of slowing down as his lead increases ahead of the field. The No. 99 is now 2.9 seconds ahead of Martin Truex Jr.

Lap 185 -- Clint Bowyer moves up a spot to 16th.

Lap 183 -- Martin Truex Jr. is adjusting his line and searching for a way to gain some time back from Carl Edwards.

Lap 182 -- Carl Edwards' lead is now 2.6 seconds ahead of Martin Truex Jr.

Lap 178 -- After serving his speeding penalty, Tony Stewart has moved back into 18th and is on the move.

Lap 176 -- Three Chevorlets are in the top five.

Lap 174 -- Denny Hamlin is the biggest mover, up 32 positions from where he started.

Lap 171 -- Carl Edwards is proving fast out front, 2.6 seconds ahead of Martin Truex Jr., in second.

Lap 168 -- Twenty-one cars remain on the lead lap with Carl Edwards in the lead.

Lap 165 -- Denny Hamlin is making his way toward the front, passing A.J. Allmendinger for 12th.

Lap 164 -- Jimmie Johnson passes underneath Jeff Gordon for ninth.

Lap 162 -- Joey Logano moves up to sixth and is doing battle with Paul Menard for the fifth spot.

Lap 159 -- Carl Edwards opens up a 1.25-second lead ahead of Martin Truex Jr.

Lap 158 -- Jimmie Johnson rounds out the top 10.

Lap 157 -- Carl Edwards leads the lap as Juan Montoya claims the third spot.

Lap 156 -- GREEN FLAG: Carl Edwards leads the field back to green, followed by Martin Truex Jr., Dale Jr. and Juan Montoya.

Lap 155 -- Tony Stewart is too fast on pit road.

Lap 152 -- Race crews are still cleaning up debris in Turn 3. Kevin Harvick is penalized for exiting too fast on pit road.

Lap 151 -- Pit road is open. Carl Edwards takes tires, fuel, tape on the grill. Tony Stewart takes tires, fuel. No changes to Kevin Harvick's Chevrolet; Harvick takes four tires and fuel. Marcos Ambrose gets a wedge adjustment. Kevin Harvick and Martin Truex Jr. pick up a spot.

Lap 149 -- YELLOW FLAG NO. 6: David Gilliland cuts a tire and hits the wall hard. Trevor Bayne gets the free pass.

Lap 146 -- Greg Biffle is out of fuel, drops down the banking and coasts to pit road.

Lap 145 -- Martin Truex Jr. drops a spot to sixth.

Lap 140 -- Martin Truex Jr. does battle with Kevin Harvick for fifth.

Lap 138 -- Dale Jr. moves up another spot to seventh.

Lap 135 -- Carl Edwards drops 2.9 seconds off the lead pace but holds off Greg Biffle in second.

Lap 133 -- Trevor Bayne is in 24th and reports the car is improving.

Lap 131 -- Kevin Harvick joins the party and takes the sixth spot.

Lap 128 -- Tony Stewart, Carl Edwards and Greg Biffle have put some space between them and the rest of the field.

Lap 125 -- Paul Menard is having a good day and has the No. 27 in seventh.

Lap 122 -- Tony Stewart continues to put on a clinic, increasing his lead ahead of Carl Edwards and the rest of the field.

Lap 121 -- Carl Edwards passes Greg Biffle for second.

Lap 119 -- Dale Earnhardt Jr. finds 10th and is doing battle with Joey Logano for ninth.

Lap 117 -- Dale Earnhard Jr. is up to 12th after a string of fast pit stops.

Lap 116 -- Tony Stewart holds off Greg Biffle for the lead. Brian Vickers moves to 10th.

Lap 115 -- GREEN FLAG: Tony Stewart leads the field back to green, followed by Greg Biffle and Carl Edwards.

Lap 110 -- Dale Earnhardt Jr. finds the 11th spot and will challenge Joey Logano in the restart.

Lap 109 -- Joey Logano will restart 10th. Kyle Busch is in the garage and out of his Toyota.

Lap 108 -- YELLOW FLAG NO. 5: Kyle Busch's car has flames coming out the rear. Jamie McMurray is into the wall after slight contact with Trevor Bayne.

Lap 107 -- Greg Biffle passes Carl Edwards for second.

Lap 106 -- GREEN FLAG: Tony Stewart leads the field to green, followed by Carl Edwards, Greg Biffle and Juan Montoya. Jimmie Johnson gets the free pass.

Lap 105 -- Paul Menard will restart 10th. Dale Earnhardt Jr. will challenge for the spot at green.

Lap 104 -- Jeff Gordon moves into fifth.

Lap 103 -- Carl Edwards moves into second, Juan Montoya holds onto third.

Lap 102 -- YELLOW FLAG NO. 4: Kurt Busch and Kasey Kahne find trouble.

Lap 101 -- GREEN FLAG: Tony Stewart leads the field to green. Joey Logano moves into eighth.

Lap 100 -- Juan Montoya will restart second, followed by Kurt Busch and Greg Biffle.

Lap 99 -- Pit road is open. Tony Stewart takes tires, fuel. Marcos Ambrose is loose and gets an adjustment, tires and fuel. Tony Stewart wins the race off pit road.

Lap 98 -- Kyle Busch takes two tires and is back on track.

Lap 97 -- Jimmie Johnson misses the free pass.

Lap 96 - YELLOW FLAG NO. 3: Kyle Busch blows a tire and is into the wall.

Lap 95 -- Tony Stewart opens up his biggest lead of the day, 6.5 seconds ahead of the field.

Lap 94 -- Jeff Gordon holds off Joey Lagano for 10th.

Lap 93 -- Tony Stewart turns a lap of 29.064 seconds.

Lap 92 -- Paul Menard is doing battle with Kevin Harvick for 12th.

Lap 91 -- Tony Stewart increases his lead ahead of the field by 2.2 seconds.

Lap 90 -- Tony Stewart couldn't be more pleased with a fast No. 14.

Lap 89 -- Jimmie Johnson is more than 30 seconds off the lead pass and about to go a lap down.

Lap 88 -- Jeff Gordon reports the No. 24 has little grip and has lost forward grip.

Lap 87 -- Jeff Gordon is in 10th, 12 seconds off the lead.

Lap 86 -- Greg Biffle is in third and dodging lapped traffic, almost touching Brad Keselowski.

Lap 85 -- Tony Stewart works his way underneath Mike Skinner and is fighting through lapped traffic.

Lap 83 -- Denny Hamlin has never led a lap at Las Vegas -- he's up to 21st.

Lap 82 -- Tony Stewart continues to lead laps.

Lap 81 -- Kevin Harvick moves up another spot to 13th.,

Lap 80 -- Twenty-six cars remain on the lead lap as Tony Stewart sets the pace, 1.2-seconds ahead of Kyle Busch.

Lap 79 -- Tony Stewart has led 57 laps.

Lap 78 -- Kevin Harvick moves to 14th.

Lap 77 -- Not much change to the top 10 as drivers settle in after green flag pit stops.

Lap 76 -- Tony Stewart opens up his lead ahead of Kyle Busch.

Lap 75 -- Jimmie Johnson is in danger of going a lap down and isn't happy with how the No. 48 is handling.

Lap 74 -- Jeff Gordon moves back into 10th, passing Joey Logano.

Lap 73 -- Kurt Busch's car seems to be improving and getting faster after the last pit stop.

Lap 72 -- Kyle Busch reports the car is "really, really good."

Lap 71 -- Tony Stewart holds the lead, but Kyle Busch is coming.

Lap 70 -- Kyle Busch is closing on Tony Stewart.

Lap 69 -- Twenty-nine cars remain on the lead lap.

Lap 68 -- Greg Biffle is in third, followed by Kurt Busch.

Lap 65 - Bill Elliott races into fifth.

Lap 61 -- Tony Stewart moves into second. Trevor Bayne is in danger of going two laps down after serving his penalty.

Lap 60 -- Mike Skinner moves into second as others cycle through pit stops.

Lap 59 -- Paul Menard heads down pit road and says the car won't turn in the center. Dave Blaney takes the lead. Trevor Bayne faces a penalty after being too fast on pit road.

Lap 58 -- Trevor Bayne is on pit road and takes four tires and reports he's happy with the car.

Lap 57 -- Paul Menard takes the lead. Martin Truex Jr. pits and takes tires, fuel.

Lap 56 -- Marcos Ambrose pits and likes his car. Jimmie Johnson is on pit road and fighting a tight car.

Lap 55 -- Greg Biffle is out front. Kyle Busch pits, takes tires and fuel. Carl Edwards gets a chassis adjustment.

Lap 54 -- Jamie McMurray takes four tires and fuel, calls the car loose.

Lap 53 -- Kasey Kahne is on pit road and says the car is terrible. Regan Smith and Jamie McMurray turn down pit road.

Lap 52 -- Greg Biffle stays out and takes the lead.

Lap 51 -- Jeff Gordon pits with Juan Montoya. Montoya misses his marks. Gordon takes tires, fuels and a significant chassis adjustment. Tony Stewart pits as Gordon exits.

Lap 50 -- Three drivers haven't made a pit stop, including Tony Stewart.

Lap 49 -- Paul Menard races into 10th. Kurt Busch pits under green; David Reutimann pits, takes fuel.

Lap 48 -- Tony Stewart is now more than 5 seconds ahead of the field.

Lap 47 -- Greg Biffle catches Kurt Busch and takes away second.

Lap 46 -- Jimmie Johnson moves down to 23rd.

Lap 45 -- Tony Stewart is trying to drive away from the field. The No. 14 is out front with a 3.6-second lead.

Lap 44 -- Juan Montoya holds onto fourth.

Lap 43 -- Paul Menard moves into 12th.

Lap 42 -- Jamie McMurray and Brad Keselowski make contact but save the cars.

Lap 41 -- Still no change to the top 10.

Lap 40 -- Thirty-six cars remain on the lead lap.

Lap 38 -- Jeff Gordon is chasing Carl Edwards for eighth.

Lap 37 -- Greg Biffle is closing on Kurt Busch. Five of the top eight cars have not been to pit road as the fuel window starts to become a factor.

Lap 36 -- Top speed of the race: 204 mph.

Lap 35 -- David Reutimann moves up to sixth.

Lap 34 -- A.J. Allmendinger is trying to take 11th away from Joey Logano but can't make the pass on the low side.

Lap 33 -- Kurt Busch is now more than 4 seconds behind Tony Stewart.

Lap 32 -- Not much change to the top 10 as the field settles in to a green-flag run.

Lap 31 -- Brian Vickers takes 18th.

Lap 30 -- David Ragan is the biggest mover up 21 spots to 21st.

Lap 29 -- Carl Edwards finds 11th after starting in third.

Lap 28 -- Tony Stewart has nothing but clean air out front. Kurt Busch , in second, is now 2.7 seconds off the pace.

Lap 27 -- Kurt Busch holds off Greg Biffle for second.

Lap 26 -- Tony Stewart has plenty of speed out front, now 2.2 seconds ahead of Kurt Busch, in second.

Lap 25 -- Juan Montoya gives up third to Greg Biffle in Turn 3.

Lap 24 -- Tony Stewart's lead increases to 1.7 seconds.

Lap 23 -- Martin Truex Jr. completes the top 10. Jeff Gordon drops to sixth.

Lap 22 -- Tony Stewart increases his lead ahead of the field. Kurt Busch, in second, is 1.2-seconds off the pace.

Lap 21 -- Juan Montoya moves into third.

Lap 20 -- David Reutimann joins the party in seventh -- up 18 positions since first green.

Lap 19 -- Tony Stewart holds off a charging field on the restart as Jeff Gordon takes the field three wide into Turn 4.

Lap 18 -- GREEN FLAG: Tony Stewart leads the field to green, followed by Kurt Busch, Jeff Gordon and Juan Montoya.

Lap 17 -- Marcos Ambrose has dropped five spots since the start of the race and is currently in seventh.

Lap 16 -- David Gilliland appears to have tapped the left-rear of Andy Lally's race car. Robby Gordon gets the free pass and remains the only car a lap down. Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Jamie McMurray turn down pit road.

Lap 15 -- YELLOW FLAG NO. 2: Andy Lally goes for a spin in the No. 71.

Lap 14 - Kurt Busch races into second. Jeff Gordon holds onto third.

Lap 13 -- Jeff Gordon falls off the pace as Tony Stewart takes the lead. Matt Kenseth heads to pit road with a flat tire.

Lap 12 -- GREEN FLAG: Jeff Gordon leads the field to green, followed by Tony Stewart and Juan Montoya.

Lap 11 -- Jeff Gordon should lead the field back to green.

Lap 10 -- Jeff Gordon stays out. Most of the leaders pit and take fuel only. Kyle Busch gains two spots.

Lap 9 -- Robby Gordon takes four tires as other drivers debate a pit stop.

Lap 8 -- YELLOW FLAG NO. 1: Robby Gordon spins out of Turn 4.

Lap 7 -- Denny Hamlin gains back seven spots after starting form the rear.

Lap 6 -- Martin Truex Jr. drops three spots to ninth.

Lap 5 -- Trevor Bayne moves up five spot into 11th.

Lap 4 -- Ryan Newman moves up a spot to seventh.

Lap 3 -- Greg Biffle passes Matt Kenseth for the lead. Jeff Gordon is on the move.

Lap 2 -- Matt Kenseth leads another lap. Carl Edwards drops to fourth.

Lap 1 -- Greg Biffle charges to second. Matt Kenseth holds the lead.

3:18 p.m. -- GREEN FLAG: Matt Kenseth brings the field up to speed and the Kobalt Tools 400 is under way at Las Vegas. Denny Hamlin starts from the rear due to an engine change.

3:12 p.m. -- The cars are rolling off pit road and will take three warm-up laps.

3:08 p.m. -- Gray Abercrombie, Lowe's sports marketing manager, gives the command: "Gentlemen, start your engines!"

3:01 p.m. -- Kristen Hertzenberg, star of Phantom-Las Vegas Spectacular, sings the national anthem.

3 p.m. -- LVMS Chaplain Joe Freiburger gives the Invocation.

2:30 p.m. -- FOX's pre-race coverage of the Kobalt Tools 400 is under way.

1 p.m. ET -- It's a sunny and windy day at Las Vegas Motor Speedway with temperatures in the 60s. Matt Kenseth is on the pole for the Kobalt Tools 400. Green is scheduled to drop at 3:16 p.m. ET.
