1938: Janet Guthrie, the first woman to compete in the Daytona 500 and Indianapolis 500, is born on this day. Guthrie finishes 15th in the 1975 Daytona 500, her second of 33 starts in the Cup Series. Her best finish is sixth at Bristol in 1977, one of her three top-10s.
