1955: Buck Baker leads all 160 laps of the Wilkes 160 at North Wilkesboro Speedway. Baker wins again at North Wilkesboro in October to sweep the season at the .625-mile dirt oval (it is paved in 1957). Those would be Baker's only victories in 34 Cup starts at the track. On this day, he beats Dick Rathman by 3 feet, and Curtis Turner finishes third, four laps back.
