1953: Lee Petty wins the Richmond 200, the first race at Richmond International Raceway, which was Richmond Fairgrounds at the time, a half-mile dirt track. Dick Rathman finishes second, and Buck Baker is third. The track, now .75 miles, has hosted 109 Cup races.
