1956: Carl Kiekhaefer drivers Speedy Thompson, Buck Baker and Herb Thomas, in cars 300C, 300 and 300B, respectively, finish 1-2-3 in a 200-lap race at Concord (N.C.) Speedway. Starting from the pole, Thompson leads 199 laps on the half-mile dirt track and beats Baker by 18 seconds. Thomas is two laps back.
