JGR cars on Iowa front row as quals canceled

Herring, McDowell to roll off 1-2 in standalone event; Edwards, Keselowski to rear

Inclement weather at Iowa Speedway forced the cancellation of qualifying Saturday, with the lineup for the John Deere Dealers 250 being set per the rule book.

That puts Joe Gibbs Racing's two cars on the front row for the standalone Nationwide Series event. Drew Herring will roll off in the No. 1 position as JGR's No. 20 Toyota leads the 2011 owners' points. Michael McDowell will start second in the No. 18 Toyota.

Austin Dillon will start third in the Kevin Harvick Inc.'s No. 33 Chevrolet.

Carl Edwards and Brad Keselowski will not practice due to their competition in the Sprint All-Star weekend at Charlotte. They will have to surrender their starting positions of fourth and 10th, respectively, and go to the rear for the start.

Rainy weather has wreaked havoc at Iowa, as both practices Friday were canceled and the starting time for Saturday's final practice had to be revised. Green flag for Sunday's race is scheduled for 2:15 p.m. ET. The forecast calls for a 30 percent chance of precipitation with lingering thunderstorms remaining in the area.
