1960: Richard Petty starts from the pole of a Cup race for the first time in his career, but it is the driver who starts to his outside on the front row who gets the win -- his father, Lee Petty. In fact Lee leads all 110 laps of the 99-mile race on the dirt track of Orange Speedway in Hillsborough, N.C. Richard finishes sixth, three laps back. Richard goes on to win another 122 poles, and 61 of his 200 Cup wins come from the pole.
