Lap 402 -- CHECKERED FLAG: Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Steve Letarte knew they'd be close on fuel, and with the checkers in their sights at Charlotte, the No. 88 slowed on fumes as Kevin Harvick streaked by to win the Coca-Cola 600.

Lap 401 -- WHITE FLAG: Dale Earnhardt Jr. leads. Denny Hamlin is on the move.

Lap 400 -- GREEN FLAG: Kasey Kahne leads the field back to green. Dale Earnhardt Jr. is in second followed by Denny Hamlin and Brad Keselowski.

Lap 399 -- Dale Earnhardt Jr. shuts the engine off to conserve fuel and struggles to get the No. 88 fired back up. He does. Greg Biffle has to come to pit road for fuel. Kasey Kahne takes the lead.

Lap 398 -- Several cars ride on the apron, low on fuel. Dale Jr. moves to second, behind Greg Biffle. Dale Jr. has been told he's within a half lap of going the distance.

Lap 397 -- The No. 48 rolls to the garage as pit road opens: David Ragan come in, takes four tires and fuel as the driver with the free pass.

Lap 396 -- YELLOW FLAG NO. 14: Jimmie Johnson blows an engine after cracking the top 10.

Lap 395 -- Jeff Gordon pits for fuel and gives up sixth.

Lap 393 -- Deny Hamlin passes Jeff Gordon for sixth. Matt Kenseth has to pit for fuel.

Lap 391 -- Greg Biffle does battle with Kasey Kahne for the lead, but the No. 16 holds on.

Lap 389 -- Matt Kenseth is turning fast laps and closing from fourth.

Lap 387 -- Kasey Kahne has caught Greg Biffle and both drivers don't appear to be saving fuel.

Lap 384 -- Dale Earnhardt Jr. won't go away and he's now closing on Kasey Kahne in second.

Lap 383 -- Matt Kenseth passes David Ragan for fourth.

Lap 379 -- Dale Jr. is on the move and into third.

Lap 374 -- Greg Biffle is holding off Kasey Kahne and David Ragan is closing from third.

Lap 368 -- Greg Biffle remains out front.

Lap 366 -- Denny Hamlin and team think it may be too close for comfort with fuel.

Lap 365 -- Kasey Kahne has caught Greg Biffle and does battle for the lead.

Lap 364 -- Kasey Kahne and team think they have the fuel to go the distance. David Ragan will go the distance as well.

Lap 363 -- Denny Hamlin is on the move and takes fifth from Matt Kenseth.

Lap 362 -- Kasey Kahne is closing the gap on Greg Biffle.

Lap 361 -- Kyle Busch ran one lap and has returned the No. 18 to the garage.

Lap 360 -- Jeff Gordon gives up third to David Ragan. Denny Hamlin is closing from sixth.

Lap 359 -- David Ragan is running strong in fourth and ready to pass Jeff Gordon for third.

Lap 357 -- Greg Biffle is turning the fastest laps of the race and increasing his lead on the field.

Lap 356 -- Greg Biffle is on the move and out front with a 1.5-second lead ahead of Kasey Kahne.

Lap 355 -- Kasey Kahne passes Jeff Gordon for second as the No. 24 give the No. 4 room.

Lap 353 -- Dale Earnhardt Jr. moves up to fourth.

Lap 352 -- Kyle Busch is in the garage and hoping to make it back into the race.

Lap 351 -- Greg Biffle takes the lead from Jeff Gordon. Brad Keselowski moves up to sixth.

Lap 350 -- Jeff Gordon gets off to a good start and leads the lap.

Lap 349 -- GREEN FLAG: Jeff Gordon leads the field back to green followed by Greg Biffle, David Ragan, Brad Keselowski and Kasey Kahne. Casey Mears gave up the lead to pit.

Lap 347 -- Casey Mears stays out to claim the lead. Jeff Gordon lays claim to second.

Lap 345 -- Pit road is open: Kasey Kahne takes four tires. Greg Biffle takes four tires. Dale Jr. takes four tires. Kevin Harvick takes four tires and fuel. Jimmie Johnson will have to serve another penalty for an infraction on pit road -- an adjustment wrench is still in the No. 48.

Lap 343 -- YELLOW FLAG NO. 13: Kyle Busch spins again; Marcos Ambrose benefits from the yellow with the free pass and Kasey Kahne couldn't ask for a better scenario as he was going to have to pit the No. 4 for fuel.

Lap 342 -- Kasey Kahne is told he has four more laps until he'll need fuel.

Lap 341 -- Clint Bowyer moves up to seventh.

Lap 340 -- Marcos Ambrose makes an unscheduled pit stop after just 30 laps. Kasey Kahne will need fuel soon.

Lap 339 -- Kasey Kahne has pulled away from Greg Biffle.

Lap 338 -- Dale Earnhardt Jr. passes Kevin Harvick for third.

Lap 337 -- Brad Keselowski moves into fifth.

Lap 335 -- Denny Hamlin drops back to 12th; impressive, considering his engine troubles on Sunday.

Lap 333 -- Jimmie Johnson moves up to ninth.

Lap 332 -- Greg Biffle keeps coming and arrives in second after passing Kevin Harvick.

Lap 331 -- Kasey Kahne is out front but could use a caution; he'll need to pit the No. 4 in less than 20 laps.

Lap 330 -- Greg Biffle passes Dale Jr. for third, then gives the spot away to Kevin Harvick.

Lap 329 -- Kurt Busch moves up to eighth.

Lap 328 -- Dale Earnhardt Jr. runs the fastest lap of his race and takes third from Greg Biffle.

Lap 327 -- Jimmie Johnson rounds out the top 10.

Lap 325 -- Pole-sitter Brad Keselowski finds the top five and says he can make it on one more pit stop.

Lap 324 -- Greg Biffle has overcome every issue thrown his way Sunday and is now in third.

Lap 323 -- GREEN FLAG: Kasey Kahne leads the field back to green. Kahne will need to come to pit road soon.

Lap 322 -- Twenty-five cars remain on the lead lap.

Lap 321 -- Kasey Kahne stays out to lead the race, followed by Kevin Harvick and Dale Jr.

Lap 320 -- A.J. Allmendinger takes four tires. Jeff Gordon takes four tires and fuel. Gordon wins the race off pit road.

Lap 318 -- YELLOW FLAG NO. 12: Kyle Busch gets loose and slides through the grass but the No.18 appears to be the first car not to be torn up after taking a stroll through the lawn at Charlotte. Pit road should be an interesting place.

Lap 315 -- Jeff Gordon remains out front.

Lap 314 -- Greg Biffle moves up to seventh. Ricky Stenhouse Jr. hits the wall for a third time Sunday, but saves the car and the race stays green.

Lap 313 -- Joey Logano brushes the wall but saves the car.

Lap 311 -- Jeff Gordon gets a good jump on the restart and leads the lap.

Lap 310 -- GREEN FLAG: Jeff Gordon leads the field back to green followed by Kasey Kahne, A.J. Allmendinger, Kevin Harvick and Dale Earnhardt. Jr.

Lap 307 -- Most of the leaders head down pit road: Matt Kenseth tops off the car with fuel. Marcos Ambrose takes two tires. Kyle Busch takes two tires and a track bar adjustment. Jeff Gordon stays out to lead, followed by Kasey Kahne, Kevin Harvick, A.J. Allmendinger and Brian Vickers.

Lap 306 -- Drivers contemplate giving up track position to pit for tires and fuel.

Lap 295 -- YELLOW FLAG NO. 10: Landon Cassill goes for a slide through the grass and is out of the race. Dale Earnhardt Jr. moves up to fifth.

Lap 293 -- GREEN FLAG: Kyle Busch leads the field back to green.

Lap 291 -- One to go until green.

Lap 289 -- YELLOW FLAG NO. 9: David Starr hits the wall. Brian Vickers gets the free pass.

Lap 288 -- David Ragan is slow on the restart and drops back to fourth. Kyle Busch maintains the lead as Marcos Ambrose holds onto second.

Lap 287 -- GREEN FLAG: Kyle Busch leads the field back to green followed by Marcos Ambrose, David Ragan, Matt Kenseth and Denny Hamlin.

Lap 285 -- Kyle Busch assumes the lead. Thirteen cars are eligible for the wave around. Martin Truex Jr. is penalized for too many men over the wall.

Lap 284 -- Jimmie Johnson heads to pit road for tires and fuel, misses the entrance and will have to come back around. Casey Mears is too fast on exit.

Lap 283 -- Jeff Gordon pits for fuel and four tires.

Lap 282 -- YELLOW FLAG NO 8: Debris in Turn 3. Jeff Gordon leads as Juan Montoya pits. Montoya takes four tires and fuel. Carl Edwards gets the free pass.

Lap 280 -- Juan Montoya stays out to take the lead as Jeff Gordon takes second.

Lap 279 -- Carl Edwards takes four tires and a chassis adjustment. Kurt Busch takes four tires and fuel. Tony Stewart is now on pit road and takes tires and fuel.

Lap 278 -- David Ragan is in for tires and fuel. Dale Jr. calls for no changes and takes tires and fuel. Kyle Busch wants rear grip and tells his crew to do whatever they need to do to make the No. 18 faster. Denny Hamlin is still complaining about the engine, despite running in the top five. Matt Kenseth leads with Tony Stewart in second.

Lap 276 -- Greg Biffle continues to gain on the field and is running in ninth.

Lap 275 -- Matt Kenseth passes Denny Hamlin for third.

Lap 271 -- Greg Biffle has fought the heat all night but continues to move toward the front. The No. 16 is in 12th.

Lap 268 -- Dale Jr. holds off Jimmie Johnson for fifth.

Lap 266 -- Carl Edwards had the car to beat earlier and is now running in 11th.

Lap 264 -- Kyle Busch puts a little space between the No. 18 and Marcos Ambrose.

Lap 263 -- Speeds are getting faster and car are getting loose as the sun sets at Charlotte.

Lap 260 -- Clint Bowyer reporting debris in Turn 1. Tower spots a piece of paper but nothing else.

Lap 259 -- Kurth Busch claims 10th; Brad Keselowski moves up to ninth.

Lap 257 -- Matt Kenseth moves up a spot to seventh.

Lap 255 -- Marcos Ambrose is running strong in second and closing on Kyle Busch.

Lap 253 -- Kyle Busch just turned the fastest lap of the race as track temperatures continue to drop.

Lap 252 -- Dale Jr. is closing on Denny Hamlin in fourth.

Lap 250 -- Dale Earnhardt Jr. passes Jimmie Johnson for fifth.

Lap 249 -- The field races three wide into Turn 3 and exits with no issues; Brad Keselowski rounds out the top 10.

Lap 247 -- David Ragan and Marcos Ambrose do battle for second. Dale Jr. reports the No. 88 is starting to get loose.

Lap 246 -- Kyle Busch gets up to speed in no time and takes the lead from the No. 9.

Lap 240 -- YELLOW FLAG NO. 7: Paul Menard hits the wall in Turn 2. Martin Truex Jr. has damage.

Lap 238 -- Kyle Busch wants the lead but Marcos Ambrose holds off the No. 18.

Lap 237 -- GREEN FLAG: Marcos Ambrose leads the field back to green followed by Kyle Busch, Denny Hamlin, David Ragan and Paul Menard.

Lap 236 -- Marcos Ambrose is out front with one to go until green.

Lap 235 -- Carl Edwards pits for right-side tires and fuel. Kurt Busch takes minor adjustments. Brad Keselowski takes four tires.

Lap 233 -- YELLOW FLAG NO 6: Mike Bliss is stalled on the track near the entrance to pit road. Greg Biffle takes the free pass.

Lap 232 -- Kurt Busch passes Tony Stewart as the No. 14 pits.

Lap 231 -- Tony Stewart and Kurt Busch run 1-2 after staying out, but are running laps 1.5 seconds slower than others who have fresh tires.

Lap 230 -- Jeff Gordon pits and takes four tires for a tight car. Clint Bowyer comes in for two tires and fuel.

Lap 229 -- Tony Stewart had the lead as green-flag stops continue.

Lap 227 -- Dale Jr. pits for four tires. Ryan Newman is tight but doesn't want many adjustments. Kyle Busch says no to ice and water.

Lap 226 -- Dale Earnhardt Jr. stays out to take the lead. Jimmie Johnson takes tires. Regan Smith misses a lug nut and must return to pit road.

Lap 224 -- Carl Edwards is tight and gets an air adjustment. Kyle Busch takes both a wedge and air adjustment.

Lap 223 -- Juan Montoya takes four tires and is off pit road. Paul Menard is good on entry but tight on exit and takes a right-side air adjustment. Marcos Ambrose loves his car and doesn't want adjustments, He takes four tires and fuel. Regan Smith pits for tires as Denny Hamlin takes the lead.

Lap 222 -- A.J. Allmendinger surrenders fourth to come down pit road. The No. 43 gets four tires and fuel. Brad Keselowski is tight in the center and wants more grip.

Lap 221 -- Kevin Harvick pulls down pit road for fresh tires and fuel. Harvick says the car isn't good enough to handle two tires.

Lap 220 -- Both Matt Kenseth and Jimmie Johnson are turning the fastest laps around the track.

Lap 219 -- Brain Vickers goes a lap down.

Lap 218 -- Several drivers continue to ask for water or ice to stay cool as track temperatures remain in the 100s.

Lap 215 -- Jimmie Johnson passes Juan Montoya for 11th and joins teammate Dale Earnhardt Jr. in a battle for 10th. Johnson is seeking his seventh win at CMS.

Lap 213 -- Matt Kenseth is starting to pull away from Marcos Ambrose. The No. 17 is 2.5 seconds ahead of the No. 9.

Lap 211 -- Jimmie Johnson is running in 13th and closing on Regan Smith in 12th.

Lap 209 -- Twenty-five cars are on the lead lap as Martin Truex Jr. goes a lap down.

Lap 207 -- Dale Earnhardt Jr. joins the top 10 again, passing Juan Montoya for the position.

Lap 204 -- Marcos Ambrose holds off Carl Edwards for second.

Lap 202 -- David Ragan is running in sixth and reporting the ice he took to cool off with has now turned to steam in his seat.

Lap 201 -- Dale Jr. picks up another spot and moves into 11th.

Lap 200 -- Brad Keselowski does battle for 10th with Kevin Harvick.

Lap 199 -- Matt Kenseth takes back the lead.

Lap 198 -- Four Fords are out front: Marcos Ambrose, Matt Kenseth, Carl Edwards and A.J. Allmendinger.

Lap 197 -- Dale Earnhardt Jr. is slowly return toward the front, passing Regan Smith for 12th.

Lap 196 -- A.J. Allmendinger moves up to fourth.

Lap 194 -- Marcos Ambrose has the lead with Matt Kenseth on his bumper.

Lap 193 -- GREEN FLAG: Matt Kenseth leads the field back to green, followed by Marcos Ambrose, Denny Hamlin, Carl Edwards and Juan Montoya.

Lap 188 -- YELLOW FLAG NO. 5: Casey Mears connects with Landon Cassill. Joey Logano gets the free pass.

Lap 183 -- Greg Biffle came down pit road despite being closed. No doubt, the No. 16 is still addressing heat issues. Jeff Gordon pits and asks for problems with his radio to be addressed. Clint Bowyer continues to struggle on pit road and the hood is open while the crew adjusts the camber on the No. 33. David Gilliland is too fast on exit.

Lap 182 -- YELLOW FLAG NO. 4: Jamie McMurray blows an engine. Ryan Newman will get the free pass. Kurth Busch is back on the lead lap.

Lap 181 -- Matt Kenseth blows by Jamie McMurray and takes the lead. Paul Menard drops back to sixth and gives fifth to Juan Montoya.

Lap 179 -- Kyle Busch rounds out the top 10.

Lap 177 -- Matt Kenseth moves up to second; Paul Menard passes Kevin Harvick for fifth.

Lap 176 -- Marcos Ambrose loses the lead to Jamie McMurray. Kevin Harvick moves to fifth with two tires.

Lap 175 -- GREEN FLAG: Marcos Ambrose leads the field back to green, followed by Jamie McMurray, Juan Montoya, Matt Kenseth and Kevin Harvick. Seven cars take the wave around.

Lap 174 -- One to go until green.

Lap 173 -- Pit road is open: Carl Edwards is a tad light on the nose and takes an air, wedge adjustment. Brad Keselowski wants two tires but is convinced to take four. Marcos Ambrose win the race off pit road.

Lap 172 -- Kurt Busch considers taking the wave around to gain a lap back.

Lap 171 -- YELLOW FLAG NO. 3: Debris on the track. Regan Smith will get the free pass.

Lap 170 -- Juan Montoya passes A.J. Allmendinger for 10th.

Lap 168 -- Twenty-three cars are on the lead lap. Jamie McMurray moves up to eighth.

Lap 166 -- Regan Smith is in danger of going a lap down.

Lap 164 -- Ryan Newman goes a lap down.

Lap 162 -- Matt Kenseth is driving the car he won with at Texas; he remains more than 6.2 seconds ahead of Carl Edwards, in second.

Lap 161 -- Kurt Busch loses a lap after having to pit to change tires. Jimmie Johnson assumes the seventh spot.

Lap 160 -- Kurt Busch reports a loose wheel and will head to pit road.

Lap 159 -- Kurt Busch and Jimmie Johnson do battle for seventh.

Lap 157 -- Twenty-five cars remain on the lead lap. Marcos Ambrose runs his fastest lap of the race and is holding onto fourth. He says his car is smooth.

Lap 155 -- Jamie McMurray rounds out the top 10 as track speeds continue to increase.

Lap 153 -- Matt Kenseth's lead is now 7.2 seconds.

Lap 151 -- Marcos Ambrose gains a spot and takes fourth away from David Ragan.

Lap 149 -- After cycling through green-flag pit stops, Matt Kenseth continues to put on a clinic and gains another second on Carl Edwards.

Lap 148 -- Kurt Busch reports he likes the car and takes tires and fuel.

Lap 147 -- A.J. Allmendinger takes tires and fuel on pit road. Carl Edwards is tight and gets an air adjustment. Jimmie Johnson gets a track bar adjustment with a car on the tight side. Matt Kenseth takes tires and a slight adjustment. Jeff Gordon is tight.

Lap 145 -- David Reutimann is on pit road with a tight car. The team contemplate pulling a spring rubber. Jamie McMurray locks the tires up entering pit road and takes another air adjustment. Kevin Harvick is on pit road with a tight car.

Lap 143 -- Jeff Burton rounds out the top 10.

Lap 142 -- Kyle Busch moves to ninth.

Lap 140 -- Denny Hamlin says he's got engine problems. "It's dying"

Lap 138 -- Carl Edwards passes Denny Hamlin for second. Four Fords own the top five.

Lap 137 -- Matt Kenseth has separated himself from the field by more than 6.5 seconds.

Lap 134 -- Twenty-seven cars remain on the lead lap. Ricky Stenhouse Jr. would get the free pass, should a caution occur.

Lap 132 -- Marcos Ambrose is searching for his first Cup win and running in fifth.

Lap 130 -- Matt Kenseth is putting on a show at Charlotte, running more than 4 seconds ahead of Denny Hamlin in second.

Lap 126 -- RFR cars are first, third and fourth. Greg Biffle is still fighting the heat and getting frustrated with his team. "Fill me in on the plan," Biffle screamed on the radio. "I don't know the plan." The team hasn't been able to change out the cool box or get the right hose attached to Biffle's helmet.

Lap 125 -- Matt Kenseth's lead is now 3.7 seconds. Kasey Kahne slides in Turn 2 but saves the car.

Lap 123 -- David Reutimann rounds out the top 10.

Lap 120 -- Dale Earnhardt Jr. continues to struggle after delays on pit road and is running in 17th.

Lap 118 -- Matt Kenseth is pulling away, 2.5 seconds ahead of Deny Hamlin.

Lap 117 -- Kyle Busch joins the party, sticks his nose on the bumper of David Reutimann and takes the ninth spot.

Lap 114 -- Jimmie Johnson is running in 12th and says he'll be patient as the No. 48 adjusts to changing track conditions with the sun setting.

Lap 112 -- Carl Edwards takes advantage of Juan Montoya getting loose and takes fourth.

Lap 111 -- Juan Montoya has trash on the front of the No. 42 but continues to run strong in fourth.

Lap 110 -- Brad Keselowski and Paul Menard do battle for 10th.

Lap 108 -- Matt Kenseth passes David Ragan for the lead.

Lap 107 -- Dale Earnhardt Jr. was the fastest car before the last pit stop, but has fallen out of the top 10 to 18th and getting passed on both sides.

Lap 106 -- Kurt Busch passes David Reutimann for fifth.

Lap 105 -- Matt Kenseth moves up to second. Marcos Ambrose moves up to eighth on two new tires.

Lap 104 -- Track temperature is 120 degrees. David Ragan holds onto the lead. Juan Montoya takes second.

Lap 103 -- GREEN FLAG: David Ragan leads the field back to green followed by David Reutimann, Juan Montoya, Denny Hamlin and Matt Kenseth.

Lap 102 -- One lap to go until green. Kasey Kahne is too fast on exit. Several drivers take ice and water in an attempt to cool off.

Lap 100 -- Pit road is open: Matt Kenseth is tight and asks for an air pressure change. Denny hamlin is loose. Carl Edwards can't get the car to turn and takes a wedge adjustment. David Ragan wins the race off pit road. Brad Keselowski takes a chassis adjustment.

Lap 99 -- YELLOW FLAG NO. 2: Bobby Labonte spins in Turn 4. Greg Biffle will get the free pass.

Lap 98 -- Dale Earnhardt Jr. passes A.J. Allmendinger for fifth.

Lap 96 -- Denny Hamlin continues to do battle with Jimmie Johnson for the lead but has managed to hold off the No. 48.

Lap 94 -- Jamie McMurray takes 10th away from Jeff Gordon. The No. 1 has gained 25 spots since the start of the race.

Lap 93 -- Jeff Gordon started 11th but is running in 10th, 6.2 seconds off the lead.

Lap 92 -- Dale Earnhardt Jr. moves up to sixth.

Lap 90 -- Jimmie Johnson has caught Denny Hamlin and looking to make the pass.

Lap 89 -- Jeff Burton has dropped all the way to ninth after electing to take two tires earlier for track position.

Lap 88 -- The sun is setting but it's still hot as track conditions begin to change.

Lap 86 -- Greg Biffle wants a bag of ice and water during his visit to pit road. The No. 16 has a new hose to his helmet to relieve some of the heat in the car.

Lap 85 -- Matt Kenseth remains fast and moves up to third for the first time Sunday.

Lap 84 -- Jeff Burton makes way for Jimmie Johnson to take second. Robby Gordon heads to the garage.

Lap 82 -- Carl Edwards gets loose in the turn and Jimmie Johnson takes advantage and the third spot.

Lap 81 -- Denny Hamlin makes the pass out of Turn 2 and takes the lead from Jeff Burton. Burton took two tires on pit road; Hamlin took four tires.

Lap 80 -- Denny Hamlin pushes Jeff Burton on the restart and slides past Carl Edwards for second.

Lap 79 -- GREEN FLAG: Jeff Burton leads the field back to green, followed by Carl Edwards, Denny Hamlin, Matt Kenseth and Jimmie Johnson.

Lap 78 -- One to go until green. Bobby Labonte is too fast on exit.

Lap 77 -- Jeff Burton wins the race on pit road and will assume the lead as Bobby Labonte pits.

Lap 76 -- Pit road is open: Jimmie Johnson takes four tires and fuel. Bobby Labonte stays out to lead.

Lap 75 -- Carl Edwards reports the car isn't strong on the short runs, but it's getting better. Joey Logano gets the free pass.

Lap 74 -- YELLOW FLAG NO. 1: Debris in Turn 1.

Lap 55 -- Carl Edwards and A.J. Allmendinger separate themselves from the pack; Denny Hamlin is in third, 5.1 seconds off the pace.

Lap 53 -- Carl Edwards takes back the lead as Matt Kenseth finds third.

Lap 50 -- Dale Earnhardt continues to gain ground, up 14 spots since the green dropped and into 11th.

Lap 48 -- A.J. Allmendinger leads as Jeff Burton pits. Brad Keselowski takes sixth away from Jimmie Johnson, passing on the low side.

Lap 47 -- Carl Edwards is told to be careful coming down pit road; he takes tires and fuel with no adjustments. Tony Stewart gets a tire pressure adjustment. Brad Kesleowski is on pit road and reports he's getting beat in the center

Lap 46 -- Dale Jr., Jimmie Johnson and Jeff Gordon take tires and fuel as Jeff Burton takes the lead.

Lap 45 -- Carl Edwards stays out and takes the lead. Ryan Newman takes a track bar adjustment on pit road.

Lap 44 -- A.J. Allmendinger gives up second to pit for tires and fuel. Kyle Busch is loose on pit road and taking a wedge adjustment.

Lap 43 -- Kevin Harvick says the car is terrible. David Reutimann is on pit road with a tight race car. Martin Truex Jr. is on pit road for tires and an air adjustment.

Lap 42 -- Jeff Burton moves up to third. Jamie McMurray pits for tires and reports the car is too slow.

Lap 40 -- Denny Hamlin rounds out the top five as Jimmie Johnson finds the bumper of the No. 11.

Lap 39 -- Matt Kenseth is fast and on the move, up 11 spots and into seventh.

Lap 37 -- Carl Edwards remains out front, 2.6 seconds ahead of A.J. Allmendinger.

Lap 32 -- Temperatures of 134 degrees are being reported inside Tony Stewart's car. Joe Nemechek is back in the race.

Lap 30 -- Greg Biffle will need his cool box changed on the car during his first pit stop. As hot as it is at the track, this could me a major issue for the No. 16 team. Biffle is running in 11th.

Lap 28 -- Dale Earnhardt Jr. has gained nine spots as well, up to 15th.

Lap 27 -- Jamie McMurray is the biggest mover, up nine spots to 26th.
