UTV blog: Atlanta

June 23, 2011, Special to NASCAR.COM, NASCAR.com

This is Tim and John with NASCAR.COM's Ultimate Tailgating Vehicle. Last week, we watched the Coca-Cola 600 in Charlotte. If you have never seen the race, it was so long and intense. There were several lead changes until Kevin Harvick clenched the victory. Can we rename running out gas to Earnhardt? "Hey AAA, I'm stuck. I Juniored it. Could you tow me across the finish line?" We tease the ones we love! To sum up the race in for you in one word: dramatic.

Since then, we have been taking the Ultimate Tailgating Vehicle to new extremes. Despite the party trailer being built with NASCAR fan suggestions, we took the Ultimate Tailgating Vehicle to an Atlanta Braves game. The verdict is in! Everyone loves it. Braves fans stopped by to check out the vehicle. Our guess is that it doesn't matter if you like NASCAR, baseball, or anything else, the Ultimate Tailgating Vehicle is a great addition to any outdoor event.

The Braves hooked us up with a few extra seats to the game. Since we mostly just wanted to walk around the stadium, we hiked up to a nose-bleed section and found a family of five to trade seats with. The classy Harold family doubted us at first, but loved the upgraded seats. We were happy because we were able to walk the entire gamut of the stadium and take a couple of pictures. Tim got a classic photo of him in front of the Turner Field gate. John got a cool photo of him with Johnny Bravo in the kids section.

While in Atlanta, we also stopped at the Atlanta Motor Speedway and watched some of the Thursday Thunder. At most races, we set up the Ultimate Tailgating Vehicle in the parking lot. Of course, this is where all of the tailgating happens. On Thursday, we were lucky enough to squeeze the Ultimate Tailgating Vehicle up in the concourse area of the race track. The engines are a lot louder up close than they are in the parking lots!

For those who watched our video, a big thanks to Heather's Henna Tattoos for being a good sport and giving John his first henna tattoo!
