1988: Rob Moroso wins his first Nationwide race, the Myrtle Beach 200. Moroso, the 1989 Nationwide Series champion, leads the final 33 laps on the .538-mile track and wins by 3.1 seconds over Larry Pearson. Tommy Houston is third. Moroso, who died in an automobile accident in 1990 at age 22, wins six races and finishes in the top 10 in 42 of his 86 starts.
