1961: Fred Lorenzen wins the Festival 250 at Atlanta, his first of four victories at the 1.5-mile track in Hampton, Ga. Lorenzen leads a race-high 52 of 167 laps and wins by more than a lap over Bob Welborn. Richard Petty is third, three laps back.
