1964: Three-time Convertible Series champion Bob Welborn makes his final Cup start in the Pennsylvania 200 at Lincoln Speedway in New Oxford, Pa. Welborn, leads the first 125 laps on the half-mile dirt track, but his engine fails and David Pearson leads the final 75 laps and wins by 11 seconds over Richard Petty. Welborn still finishes 11th in the field of 22. For his career, Welborn wins nine Cup races in 183 starts and 19 Convertible races in 111 starts.
