1985: Driving the No. 1 Chevrolet for Hoss Ellington, Davey Allison finishes 10th in the Talladega 500 in his first Cup start. Allison, 24, finishes two laps behind winner Cale Yarborough, who crosses the finish line .66 seconds ahead of Neil Bonnett. Ron Bouchard and Bill Elliott are the only other drivers to finish on the lead lap.
