1966: David Pearson beats Richard Petty to the checkered flag by one car length to win his 25th Cup race, the Sandlapper 200 at Columbia (S.C.) Speedway, a half-mile dirt track. Curtis Turner, who leads the first 134 laps, finishes third, the only other car on the lead lap.
