1957: Gwyn Staley wins the second and final Cup race run at Coastal Speedway, a half-mile dirt track in Myrtle Beach, S.C. Staley wins by a lap over Eddie Pagan and two laps over Fireball Roberts, who won the inaugural race at Coastal the previous year. Fifteen cars are in the field, and the 10 cars running at the end of the race all finish in the top 10.
