Lap 400 -- CHECKERED FLAG: Kevin Harvick holds off Carl Edwards for his fourth victory of the season and a tie for the top spot in the Chase with Kyle Busch. Tony Stewart and Dale Earnhardt Jr. grab the ninth and 10th spots in the Chase and Denny Hamlin grabs the final wild card spot.

Lap 397 -- Three to go, same margin between Carl Edwards and Kevin Harvick.

Lap 395 -- Carl Edwards now trails by 0.2 seconds.

Lap 383 -- David Ragan passes Kyle Busch for fourth. Jeff Gordon leads by a second.

Lap 381 -- Dale Earnhardt Jr. goes a lap down but with 19 to go, he should be OK.

Lap 379 -- Greg Biffle now down to 10th. It's was a good effort Biff!

Lap 378 -- Jeff Gordon able to complete the pass and is out front.

Lap 376 -- Here we go again, Kevin Harvick and Jeff Gordon side-by-side.

Lap 375 -- Great run by Regan Smith tonight as he runs 13th.

Lap 372 -- Kevin Harvick holds on to the lead.

Lap 371 -- Kevin Harvick and Jeff Gordon are side-by-side for the lead.

Lap 368 -- Greg Biffle continues to fade as Kurt Busch and David Ragan are challenging him for fifth.

Lap 366 -- Jeff Gordon closing on Kevin Harvick and we could have a battle to the checkered if this race stays green.

Lap 362 -- Brad Keselowski is 14th, Dale Earnhardt Jr. is 18th.

Lap 360 -- Clint Bowyer is a lap down and his Chase chances are over.

Lap 358 -- Greg Biffle is starting to drop as he falls to fourth.

Lap 355 -- Carl Edwards is being told he is 10 laps short on fuel since he didn't pit with everyone else. Edwards is currently fourth.

Lap 354 -- After being one of the best early, Clint Bowyer is close to going a lap down.

Lap 350 -- Fifty laps to go. Tony Stewart, Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Denny Hamlin would be the final three Chase berths if the race ended right now.

Lap 348 -- Shout out to Dave Blaney, who is 19th and having a great night.

Lap 342 -- The Chase picture is pretty solid right now, but there are 58 laps remaining.

Lap 339 -- Kyle Busch has worked his way to fifth and looking to pass Carl Edwards for fourth.

Lap 334 -- Kevin Harvick is out front by two seconds. Jeff Gordon passes Greg Biffle for second.

Lap 329 -- Denny Hamlin remains a solid 11th after some early-race issues.

Lap 327 -- Dale Earnhardt Jr. is 17th, which is enough to lock him into the Chase.

Lap 325 -- Greg Biffle is second and a win could give him the wild card, but he would need something to happen to Denny Hamlin as Hamlin leads Biffle by 18 points.

Lap 322 -- Jeff Gordon is a rocket right now and is up to third after passing Carl Edwards and David Ragan.

Lap 320 -- The top five after all the passing: Kevin Harvick, Greg Biffle, Carl Edwards, David Ragan, Kurt Busch.

Lap 318 -- Contact between Brad Keselowski and Matt Kenseth has the No. 17 with a tire rub.

Lap 317 -- Carl Edwards down to third, Matt Kenseth down to seventh and Stpehen Leicht down to 22nd.

Lap 314 -- Lots of changes as Kevin Harvick leads as the fresher tires are proving to work better.

Lap 313 -- GREEN FLAG: Carl Edwards brings the field to the green followed by Matt Kenseth, Stpehen Leicht, Kurt Busch and Jeff Gordon.

Lap 309 -- YELLOW FLAG NO. 14: David Reutimann into the wall with heavy damage after contact with Clint Bowyer. Marcos Ambrose gets the free pass and is back on the lead lap.

Lap 307 -- Jeff Gordon up to seventh as Brad Keselowski continues to fall.

Lap 306 -- Kurt Busch passes Greg Biffle for second. Kevin Harvick follows Busch for third.

Lap 304 -- Landon Cassill spins at the start/finish line but is able to keep going and the race stays green.

Lap 302 -- Carl Edwards holds serve and leads.

Lap 301 -- GREEN FLAG: Carl Edwards brings the field to the green followed by Greg Biffle, Brad Keselowski, Kurt Busch and David Ragan.

Lap 298 -- Jeff Gordon in 10th the highest-running car to pit. Mark Martin, Jamie McMurray, Clint Bowyer, Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Regan Smith also pit.

Lap 297 -- Joey Logano's engine exploded under caution and he heads to the garage.

Lap 296 -- YELLOW FLAG NO. 13: Marcos Ambrose spins again and brings out the caution. A.J. Allmendinger gets the free pass and is back on the lead lap.

Lap 293 -- Jeff Gordon down to ninth. Dale Earnhardt Jr. runs 17th.

Lap 291 -- The top four hold serve. David Ragan passes Jeff Gordon for fifth.

Lap 275 -- Tony Stewart down to ninth and he is complaining about his car.

Lap 271 -- Clint Bowyer stuck in 23rd as he just can't get going after the restart.

Lap 268 -- Tony Stewart up to seventh. Kevin Harvick is eighth, followed by Jeff Gordon. Denny Hamlin is 12th.

Lap 264 -- Carl Edwards leads Greg Biffle by 1.4 seconds.

Lap 261 -- Dale Earnhardt Jr. running 18th after getting the free pass.

Lap 259 -- Jimmie Johnson still in the garage as Kurt Busch runs fifth. Guess that revenge didn't work out all that well.

Lap 255 -- Yes, Stephen Leicht is running 10th and looking great.

Lap 254 -- Paul Menard back on the track scored 79 laps down.

Lap 253 -- GREEN FLAG: Carl Edwards brings the field to the green followed by Brad Keselowski, Greg Biffle, Kurt Busch and Denny Hamlin

Lap 249 -- Clint Bowyer, Jeff Burton, Kyle Busch and Mark Martin will use the wave-around to get back on the lead lap. Jamie McMurray and A.J. Allmendinger will take the wave-around but will stayed trapped a lap down.

Lap 248 -- Brad Keselowski with four tires. No changes for David Ragan. Four tires for Greg Biffle with a track bar adjustment. Carl Edwards with a track bar adjustment.

Lap 246 -- YELLOW FLAG NO. 11: Jimmie Johnson and Kurt Busch get together in Turn 2. Johnson hits the wall and goes to the garage. Busch spins but doesn't hit anything. Dale Earnhardt Jr. gets the free pass and is back on the lead lap.

Lap 245 -- Jeff Burton, Mark Martin and Kyle Busch on pit road. Busch with four tires and fuel.

Lap 243 -- Jamie McMurray on pit road for a chassis adjustment.

Lap 226 -- Greg Biffle passes Kevin Harvick for fourth.

Lap 224 -- Dale Earnhardt Jr. up to 24th. Carl Edwards leads by more than three seconds.

Lap 222 -- Dale Earnhardt Jr. better get moving, Brad Keselowski is running second after passing Kurt Busch and Kevin Harvick.

Lap 219 -- Believe it or not, despite double-digit cautions, there are still 29 drivers on the lead lap. Bobby Labonte is the last car on the lead lap. David Gilliland is the first car a lap down.

Lap 217 -- But don't count out the Joe Gibbs Racing drivers as Kyle Busch and Denny Hamlin run 11th and 12th, respectively.

Lap 214 -- Both Penske Dodges are in the top five. Three Roush and RCR cars are in the top 10.

Lap 211 -- As they run right now, Brad Keselowski is four points behind Dale Earnhardt Jr. for 10th. With Paul Menard's trouble, David Ragan could be the No. 2's biggest fan.

Lap 209 -- Greg Biffle's two-tire stop earlier for track position has paid off as he runs sixth and is on a pit schedule with the leaders.

Lap 191 -- Kevin Harvick clears Carl Edwards for the lead.

Lap 181 -- Despite the earlier spin, Landon Cassill remains on the lead lap in 22nd.

Lap 179 -- Kevin Harvick holds the lead. Kurt Busch up to sixth on the restart.

Lap 178 -- GREEN FLAG: Kevin Harvick brings the field to the green followed by Carl Edwards, Clint Bowyer, Jimmie Johnson and Greg Biffle.

Lap 175 -- David Reutimann too fast entering pit road and will start at the tail end.

Lap 174 -- David Reutimann in 22nd the highest-running car to pit. Dale Earnhardt Jr., Bobby Labonte and Matt Kenseth also on pit road.

Lap 172 -- YELLOW FLAG NO. 9: Paul Menard with some hard damage after contact with the wall. Regan Smith spins a separate incident but keeps it off the wall. Menard has gone to the garage, ending his Chase hopes. Marcos Ambrose gets the free pass and is back on the lead lap.

Lap 170 -- As they run right now, Tony Stewart, Dale Earnhardt Jr. hold the ninth and 10th spot in the standings with Brad Keselowski and Denny Hamlin the wild cards.

Lap 169 -- Kevin Harvick holds the leads. Greg Biffle down to third and could lose more.

Lap 168 -- GREEN FLAG: Kevin Harvick brings the field to the green followed by Greg Biffle, Carl Edwards, Clint Bowyer and Jimmie Johnson.

Lap 166 -- Marcos Ambrose uses the wave-around again and is now a lap down.

Lap 164 -- Matt Kenseth in 27th the highest-running car to pit. Regan Smith also on pit road after narrowly avoiding Landon Cassill.

Lap 162 -- YELLOW FLAG NO. 8: Landon Cassill spins on the frontstretch as Kevin Harvick passes Greg Biffle for the lead. Dale Earnhardt Jr. gets the free pass and is back on the lead lap.

Lap 161 -- Greg Biffle able to keep the field behind him ... for now.

Lap 160 -- GREEN FLAG: Greg Biffle brings the field to the green followed by Carl Edwards, Kevin Harvick, Clint Bowyer and Jimmie Johnson.

Lap 158 -- Marcos Ambrose and David Gilliland use the wave-around. Both are multiple laps down.

Lap 157 -- Greg Biffle the race leader with his two-tire stop. Paul Menard with a lengthy stop after removing equipment from his stall.

Lap 156 -- Pit road is open. Clint Bowyer with a track bar adjustment and an air pressure adjustment. Juan Montoya with an air pressure adjustment. Kevin Harvick with an air pressure adjustment. Greg Biffle with two tires.

Lap 154 -- Pit road is closed. NASCAR has said Dale Earnhardt Jr. will not receive the free pass.

Lap 152 -- YELLOW FLAG NO. 7: Travis Kvapil into the Turn 2 wall after Dale Earnhardt Jr. delivered some payback after earlier contact. Dale Earnhardt Jr. was in position to get the free pass but shouldn't because he caused the caution.

Lap 148 -- Kyle Busch passes Matt Kenseth for 16th as Busch looks to get back to the front.

Lap 146 -- David Ragan having a great night currently seventh. If he wins, he is in the Chase as long as he can get into the top 20 in points.

Lap 142 -- Jeff Burton has dropped to ninth and Kurt Busch looking to pass him. Top three are Kevin Harvick, Carl Edwards and Juan Montoya.

Lap 137 -- Denny Hamlin now 16th as he passes Matt Kenseth. Kyle Busch has worked his way up to 20th after being a lap down.

Lap 134 -- Jeff Gordon challenging Jeff Burton for sixth. Greg Biffle and A.J. Allmendinger side-by-side for 12th.

Lap 130 -- Brad Keselowski is currently 21st, which is helping Tony Stewart and Dale Earnhardt Jr. stay in the top 10 in points.

Lap 128 -- Carl Edwards passes Clint Bowyer for third.

Lap 125 -- Jeff Burton passes Jimmie Johnson for fifth. Three RCR cars are now in the top five.

Lap 96 -- Dale Earnhardt Jr. goes a lap down. The good news, the next car on the lead lap is Bobby Labonte and he a straightaway away.

Lap 93 -- Kevin Harvick is closing on Dale Earnhardt Jr. and about to put him a lap down.

Lap 90 -- Kevin Harvick has checked out and leads by more than two seconds.

Lap 87 -- Carl Edwards complaining about a power steering issue.

Lap 83 -- Dale Earnhardt Jr. currently 28th after taking just fuel on his pit stop. Denny Hamlin up to 19th after being a lap down.

Lap 79 -- Clint Bowyer up to seventh as he passes David Ragan. Ragan and Bowyer the highest -running Chase bubble drivers.

Lap 75 -- Carl Edwards up to third. Clint Bowyer is a rocket after his wreck and is now eighth.

Lap 73 -- Kevin Harvick gets around Matt Kenseth and is out front for the first time.

Lap 71 -- Kyle Busch now a lap down in 33rd. Marcos Ambrose and David Gilliland also a lap down and ahead of Busch.

Lap 69 -- Kyle Busch on pit road for an unscheduled stop. Busch thinks he has a loose wheel.

Lap 67 -- Matt Kenseth has pulled away from Kurt Busch.

Lap 65 -- Brad Keselowski, David Ragan and Kevin Harvick in a three-way battle for third.

Lap 62 -- Matt Kenseth and Kurt Busch side-by-side for the lead.

Lap 61 -- GREEN FLAG: Matt Kenseth brings the field to the green.

Lap 59 -- Matt Kenseth stays out and takes the lead. David Ragan, Kurt Busch, Joey Logano, Brad Keselowski and Mike Bliss also stay out. Landon Cassill too fast on pit road and will start at the tail of the field.

Lap 58 -- Pit road is open. Four tires and fuel for Jimmie Johnson. Kevin Harvick with an air pressure adjustment. Jamie McMurray with four tires and a minor adjustment. Carl Edwards with two tires. Dale Earnhardt Jr. with no new tires.

Lap 56 -- Pit road remains closed as Kasey Kahne's car is blocking the entrance.

Lap 53 -- Brian Vickers is letting Marcos Ambrose know he isn't happy with the crash as Vickers wrecks Ambrose under caution and blocks Ambrose's entrance to pit road. Vickers has been parked in the garage.

Lap 51 -- YELLOW FLAG NO 5: Kasey Kahne's night is over as he wrecks hard into the outside and inside wall. Marcos Ambrose, Brian Vickers and Kahne were three-wide and Kahne and Vickers got together.

Lap 50 -- A.J. Allmendinger up to ninth as he tries to race his way into the track.

Lap 47 -- Clint Bowyer up to 14th after his crash. Michael McDowell to the garage.

Lap 45 -- Martin Truex Jr. again slow on the track and is trying to get to pit road.

Lap 44 -- Jimmie Johnson holds off a challenge from Kevin Harvick for the lead.

Lap 43 -- GREEN FLAG: Jimmie Johnson brings the field to the green followed by Kevin Harvick, Jamie McMurray, Juan Montoya and Kyle Busch.

Lap 40 -- Marcos Ambrose and Denny Hamlin on pit road.

Lap 39 -- Pit road is open. Joey Logano and Kasey Kahne pit. Martin Truex Jr. is three laps down after his issues. Kasey Kahne has stayed on the lead lap after his crash.

Lap 37 -- YELLOW FLAG NO. 4: Marcos Ambrose wrecks on the backstretch after Dale Earnhardt Jr. gets into the rear of the No. 9 to bring out another caution. Denny Hamlin gets the free pass and is back on the lead lap.

Lap 34 -- Martin Truex Jr. has a flat tire and is slow on the track, trying to get to pit road.

Lap 32 -- Jimmie Johnson with a great start and maintains the lead.

Lap 31 -- GREEN FLAG: Jimmie Johnson brings the field to the green followed by Kevin Harvick, Jamie McMurray, David Reutimann and Juan Montoya.

Lap 30 -- Kasey Kahne and Martin Truex Jr. back on pit road.

Lap 28 -- Brad Keselowski in 14th the highest-running car to pit. Most of the field behind him pits as well. A huge break for Kurt Busch who is able to get four new tires and replace the flat.

Lap 27 -- YELLOW FLAG NO. 3: Kasey Kahne hard into the wall bringing out the caution. The No. 4 has serious damage. David Gilliland gets the free pass and is back on the lead lap.

Lap 25 -- J.J. Yeley and Joe Nemechek to the garage. Kurt Busch stuck on the outside and can't pit.

Lap 24 -- Kevin Harvick to second as he passes Jamie McMurray.

Lap 22 -- Kurt Busch is dropping in the field as it appears he has a tire going down. He will make an unscheduled stop.

Lap 20 -- Jimmie Johnson gets around Jamie McMurray on the outside to take the lead.

Lap 19 -- GREEN FLAG: Jamie McMurray brings the field to the green.

Lap 18 -- Denny Hamlin back on pit road.

Lap 17 -- Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Clint Bowyer on pit road for more repairs.

Lap 16 -- Denny Hamlin and Matt Kenseth back on pit road. Hamlin has the hood up and this could kill his Chase chances.

Lap 15 -- Joey Logano in 16th the highest-running car to pit. Clint Bowyer, Dale Earnhardt Jr., Matt Kenseth, Martin Truex Jr. and Clint Bowyer all back on pit road.

Lap 14 -- Denny Hamlin has gone a lap down after a lengthy stop.

Lap 13 -- Dale Earnhardt Jr. back on pit road. Matt Kenseth, Martin Truex Jr. and Casey Mears also pit. All were involved in the crash.

Lap 12 -- Denny Hamlin on pit road to fix some damage on the left side and the front. Dale Earnhardt Jr. also on pit road with serious front end damage. Bobby Labonte and Casey Mears also pit.

Lap 9 -- We will never forget 9/11/01.

Lap 8 -- YELLOW FLAG NO. 2: Clint Bowyer and David Reutimann get together and Bowyer goes for a spin. The wreck collects Denny Hamlin, Dale Earnhardt Jr., Scott Speed, Robby Gordon and others.

Lap 6 -- GREEN FLAG: Jamie McMurray brings the field to the green followed by Jimmie Johnson, David Reutimann, Mark Martin and Clint Bowyer.

Lap 4 -- Pit road is open and Mike Bliss in 37th is the only taker.

Lap 2 -- YELLOW FLAG NO. 1: Andy Lally into the wall in Turn 4 bringing out the caution. No free pass is given.

Lap 1 -- Jamie McMurray gets a great start on the outside and takes the lead. Jimmie Johnson passes David Reutimann for second.

7:50 p.m. ET -- GREEN FLAG: David Reutimann brings the field to the green and the final race before the Chase is under way from Richmond.

7:46 p.m. ET -- The cars are rolling off pit road and we are three warm-up laps away from 400 laps at Richmond.

7:40 p.m. ET -- Retired U.S. Marine R. Lee Emrey gives the command: "Let's get crackin! Drivers, start your engines!"

7:34 p.m. ET -- The 29th Infantry Division Band performs the national anthem.

7:33 p.m. ET -- Chaplain Joe Ellison from the Virginia Christian Alliance delivers the Invocation.

7:30 p.m. ET -- Danny Rodriguez, a NYPD officer, sings "God Bless America."

7 p.m. ET -- David Reutimann is on the pole at Richmond. It's his fourth career Cup Series pole and first at Richmond. Poles haven't led to strong finishes for Reutimann. In his three other starts from the P1 position, he's finished 11th at Texas, 18th at Dover and 20th at Homestead.

5:07 p.m. ET -- A look at the Chase hopefuls: Dale Earnhardt Jr. is in if he finishes 20th or better. Tony Stewart is in if he finishes 18th or better.
