1960: Richard Petty wins his first Cup race from the pole. It's also his first win flag to flag, as he leads all 110 laps at Orange Speedway, a nine-tenths mile dirt track in Hillsborough, N.C. Ned Jarrett finishes second, one lap back, and Rex White is third, four laps behind Petty. All told Petty wins 61 Cup races from the pole.
