Six Pack of Pop: Caveman has been a fan a very, very long time

September 20, 2011, Joe Menzer, NASCAR.com

Raced with Martin back in the day and shows love for Biffle in an odd way

The Geico Caveman, an unabashed NASCAR fan who served as grand marshal of the Geico 400 at Chicagoland Speedway, answers this week's six questions.

Even the Caveman understands NASCAR's new points system.

1. Is it true that NASCAR's new points system is so simple even a caveman can understand it?

Caveman: If this is how the interview is starting out, we're not starting out too great. Next question, please.

2. Is it true you used to run with Mark Martin?

Caveman: Yeah, actually that is true. And he still owes me money, so that's a little bit of a sore subject. But we're going to get together over Thanksgiving and talk it over.

3. Did you used to race back in the day? And if so, what were the cars like back then?

Caveman: Yes, I did used to race. And if you're referring to the Flintstone mode of transportation, I don't appreciate it. That was a tough way to get around.

4. Who are your favorite drivers of this current era?

Caveman: Is it weird that I have a tattoo of Greg Biffle on my lower back? Would that be a little weird to admit that?

5. Yes, that's very strange. Can you explain that?

Caveman: No, I'd rather not go into detail on that one. It was a crazy night at Watkins Glen. That's all I can really say.

6. Anything else you'd like to add?

Caveman: I'm just hoping to see a little [racing] action and see what happens in this Chase. I've always been a big fan of NASCAR. I've always enjoyed the sport -- and I've been around for a really, really long time.
