1968: Richard Petty picks up his sixth Cup victory at Martinsville, winning the Old Dominion 500 by three laps over Cale Yarborough. LeeRoy Yarbrough finishes third, also three laps back. Petty leads 324 laps, the second most of his 15 victories at the half-mile short track. In 1970, Petty will lead 480 of the 500 laps of the Old Dominion 500.
