1998: Driving the No. 59 Chevrolet, Jimmie Johnson leads 10 laps in a Nationwide Series race at Gateway International Raceway, the first laps he leads in NASCAR. Johnson, making his second start, finishes 15th, the last car on the lead lap. Dale Earnhardt Jr. gets the win by 3.254 seconds over Matt Kenseth, and Jeff Purvis is third.
