Lap 500 -- CHECKERED FLAG: Jimmie Johnson bumps Tony Stewart, but Stewart is able to hang on for his third victory in the Chase. Johnson finishes second and Jeff Gordon is third. Kevin Harvick is fourth. Carl Edwards keeps the points lead with a ninth-place finish.

Lap 499 -- WHITE FLAG: Tony Stewart takes the white flag with Jimmie Johnson on his bumper.

Lap 498 -- Tony Stewart takes the lead. Brad Keselowski spins on the restart and loses a ton of positions.

Lap 497 -- GREEN FLAG: Three to go. Jimmie Johnson brings the field to the green followed by Tony Stewart, Jeff Gordon, Kevin Harvick and Jeff Burton.

Lap 492 -- YELLOW FLAG NO. 18: Another caution for Brian Vickers. The No. 83 is destroyed as he spins after letting Matt Kenseth know he wasn't too happy with him.

Lap 491 -- Denny Hamlin is flying as he passes Dale Earnhardt Jr. for sixth.

Lap 490 -- Tony Stewart and Jeff Gordon pass Jeff Burton for second and third.

Lap 488 -- Kevin Harvick passes Dale Earnhardt Jr. for fifth.

Lap 487 -- Denny Hamlin passes Brad Keselowski for seventh.

Lap 486 -- Jimmie Johnson out front by more than a second.

Lap 484 -- Carl Edwards is 10th and could salvage a huge points day.

Lap 483 -- Jeff Gordon up to fourth. Denny Hamlin is eighth.

Lap 480 -- Juan Montoya being blackflagged and will have to pit after his hood blew up into the windshield.

Lap 479 -- Dale Earnhardt Jr. peeking for third. Joey Logano up to 10th.

Lap 478 -- GREEN FLAG: Let's do it again, folks. Twenty-two to go and Jimmie Johnson brings them up to speed followed by Tony Stewart, Jeff Burton, Jeff Gordon and Dale Earnhardt Jr.

Lap 475 -- YELLOW FLAG NO. 17: Ryan Newman spins after Kurt Busch gets into him. Greg Biffle gets the free pass again and is back on the lead lap.

Lap 474 -- Jimmie Johnson clears for the lead. Tony Stewart passes Jeff Burton for second.

Lap 473 -- GREEN FLAG: Jimmie Johnson brings the field to the green followed by Jeff Burton, Tony Stewart, David Reutimann and Jeff Gordon.

Lap 469 -- A.J. Allmendinger the highest-running car to pit as pit road is finally open. Greg Biffle gets the free pass and is now one lap down.

Lap 468 -- Matt Kenseth has taken the No. 17 to the garage.

Lap 467 -- Kyle Busch on pit road and is now a lap down.

Lap 466 -- Kyle Busch was in a hurry to get off pit road and as he did, lost his tire and is now driving on three pieces of rubber.

Lap 464 -- YELLOW FLAG NO. 16: Big wreck in Turn 3 as Matt Kenseth, Juan Montoya and Kyle Busch all end up in the wall. Kenseth locked his brakes up and Busch and Montoya had nowhere to go.

Lap 463 -- Jimmie Johnson checks out while the racing is intense behind him.

Lap 462 -- GREEN FLAG: The race goes green for 38 more laps.

Lap 459 -- Jimmie Johnson, Jeff Burton and David Reutimann stay out for the top three spots. Dale Earnhardt Jr. is fourth with Tony Stewart fifth.

Lap 458 -- The leaders hit pit road. Jeff Gordon with a track ar adjustment and four tires. Brad keselowski with four tires. Denny Hamlin with four tires and a track bar adjustment. Dale Earnhardt Jr., Tony Stewart and Mark Martin with two tires.

Lap 457 -- YELLOW FLAG NO. 15: Karma may have finally caught up with Brian Vickers. He slams the wall in Turn 3 to bring out the caution after contact from Matt Kenseth. Travis Kvapil gets the free pass and is back on the lead lap.

Lap 455 -- It's been a wild race, with issues for many Chasers, but all 12 Chasers are on the lead lap and run from first to 17th.

Lap 452 -- With less than 50 to go, will Jeff Gordon or Jimmie Johnson get Hendrick Motorsports its 200th victory, or will Denny Hamlin run them down and score a huge moral victory?

Lap 450 -- Brian Vickers passes Matt Kenseth for eighth.

Lap 448 -- Tony Stewart up to 10th after his unscheduled stop dropped him to 23rd.

Lap 445 -- A.J. Allmendinger gets sent out of the groove by Regan Smith. Allmendinger falls all the way to 23rd after running 15th.

Lap 442 -- Not sure how he has been able to do it, but Regan Smith is 13th after a momentus afternoon.

Lap 441 -- Brad Keselowski up to fifth as he passes Kevin Harvick.

Lap 440 -- Kevin Harvick falls to fifth as Denny Hamlin and Kyle Busch pass him.

Lap 438 -- Jeff Gordon follows Jimmie Johnson dropping Kevin Harvick to third.

Lap 437 -- Jimmie Johnson playing tag with Kevin Harvick for the lead.

Lap 435 -- NASCAR has pulled the penalty for Carl Edwards and he will not be penalized.

Lap 433 -- Carl Edwards makes it three-wide on the restart and he will have to go to pit road to serve a pass-through penalty. Edwards thought Jeff Burton was supposed to let him in.

Lap 432 -- GREEN FLAG: Kevin Harvick brings the field to the green followed by Jeff Gordon, Jimmie Johnson, Denny Hamlin and Kyle Busch.

Lap 428 -- Carl Edwards and David Reutimann among the handful of drivers to pit.

Lap 427 -- YELLOW FLAG NO. 14: After some rough racing with each other, Paul Menard and Kurt Busch get together and Busch goes for a spin. Menard with a lot of damage as well. Mark Martin gets the free pass and is back on the lead lap.

Lap 425 -- Juan Montoya and Martin Truex Jr. the only two in the top 10 that are non-Chasers.

Lap 423 -- All sorts of bumping and banging out on the track as the laps tick down.

Lap 421 -- Kevin Harvick holds the lead. Brad Keselowski behind a damaged Greg Biffle and he is losing some spots.

Lap 419 -- GREEN FLAG: Kevin Harvick brings the field to the green followed by Jeff Gordon, Jimmie Johnson, Denny Hamlin and Kyle Busch.

Lap 416 -- Tony Stewart gives up the lead and hits pit road as he has a tire go down after contact with Kevin Harvick on the restart.

Lap 414 -- YELLOW FLAG NO. 13: Greg Biffle was 14th but he went for a spin after contact with Ryan Newman and slammed the Turn 2 wall, ruining his back end. Biffle just got into the turn too fast. Joey Logano gets the free pass and is back on the lead lap.

Lap 413 -- Lots of contact on the restart. Kevin Harvick and Tony Stewart side-by-side for the lead.

Lap 412 -- GREEN FLAG: Kevin Harvick brings the field to the green followed by Tony Stewart, Jeff Gordon, Denny Hamlin and Jimmie Johnson.

Lap 409 -- The wave-around cars are all on pit road as they made the right decision.

Lap 408 -- YELLOW FLAG NO. 12: Hermie Sadler spins bringing out the caution. Regan Smith gets into Mark Martin, who got into Sadler. Carl Edwards gets the free pass and is back on the lead lap.

Lap 406 -- A.J. Allmendinger has some contact on the restart and may have a tire rub.

Lap 405 -- Kevin harvick holds the lead. Tony Stewart up to second. Kyle Busch climbs to sixth.

Lap 404 -- GREEN FLAG: Kevin Harvick brings the field to the green followed by Jeff Gordon, Tony Stewart, Jimmie Johnson and Denny Hamlin.

Lap 402 -- Kevin Harvick won the race off pit road and is out front.

Lap 401 -- Kurt Busch, Regan Smith, David Reutimann and Casey Mears take the wave-around and will be back on the lead lap.

Lap 400 -- Jimmie Johnson with four tires. Jeff Gordon with four tires. Matt Kenseth with four tires. Denny Hamlin with four tires. Tony Stewart and Kevin Harvick take two tires.

Lap 398 -- YELLOW FLAG NO. 11: Jeff Burton into the Turn 2 wall after Ryan Newman bumps Kurt Busch, who hits Burton. Clint Bowyer gets the free pass and is back on the lead lap.

Lap 396 -- Matt Kenseth and Jimmy Fennig are actually looking at fuel mileage if this race stays green.

Lap 394 -- Tony Stewart up to 13th after so close to being a lap down.

Lap 390 -- Dale Earnhardt Jr. in 10th despite a memorable afternoon full of contact.

Lap 385 -- Jeff Gordon out front by 1.3 seconds. Denny Hamlin, Jimmie Johnson and Kyle Busch all bunched up for second.

Lap 382 -- Seventeen cars on the lead lap as we approach 100 to go.

Lap 374 -- Kyle Busch up to third as he looks strong after his stop.

Lap 372 -- Jeff Grdon gets around Denny Hamlin in Turn 4 for the lead.

Lap 371 -- Brad Keselowski stuck on the outside and loses multiple positions.

Lap 369 -- Denny Hamlin holds the lead. Jimmie Johnson and Jeff Gordon side-by-side for second.

Lap 368 -- GREEN FLAG: Denny Hamlin brings the field to the green followed by Jimmie Johnson, Jeff Gordon, Matt Kenseth and Kyle Busch.

Lap 364 -- Jimmie Johnson beating Jeff Gordon for second the only change among the top five. David Reutimann penalized and will come back to pit road.

Lap 363 -- The leaders hit pit road. Jimmie Johnson with four tires and a wedge adjustment. Jeff Gordon with a wedge and air pressure adjustment. Matt Kenseth with four tires and no changes. Denny Hamlin with four tires, a track bar and air pressure adjustment.

Lap 361 -- YELLOW FLAG NO. 10: David Gilliand spins and hits the wall in Turn 1 bringing out the caution. Tony Stewart's persistence pays off as he stays on the lead lap. Paul Menard gets the free pass and is back on the lead lap.

Lap 357 -- Lots of lap traffic has allowed Jeff Gordon and Jimmie Johnson to catch the leader.

Lap 354 -- Tony Stewart not going a lap down easily allowing Jeff Gordon to lose the gap.

Lap 352 -- Matt Kenseth passes Kyle Busch for fourth.

Lap 349 -- Brian Vickers involved in four of the nine cautions yet finds himself 10th with 150 to go. Very impressive afternoon for the No. 83.

Lap 348 -- Paul Menard goes a lap down meaning Tony Stewart is next in line.

Lap 345 -- A.J. Allmendinger up to sixth as he has had a fantastic afternoon.

Lap 341 -- Denny Hamlin puts Clint Bowyer a lap down. Green-flag stops could be a possibility here in the next 30 laps or so.

Lap 337 -- Unless something crazy happens -- and this is Martinsville, so it's definitely a possibility -- Carl Edwards will be trapped a lap down and there will be a new points leader as the Chase moves to Texas.

Lap 335 -- Kurt Busch and David Reutimann go a lap down as just 18 cars are on the lead lap.

Lap 330 -- Juan Montoya having a great day as he moves up to eighth.

Lap 327 -- Regan Smith goes a lap down. Jeff Gordon not allowing Denny Hamlin to pull away.

Lap 320 -- Denny Hamlin able to complete the pass on the backstretch and get back out front.

Lap 317 -- Casey Mears goes a lap down as Denny Hamlin catches leader Jeff Gordon.

Lap 314 -- Jeff Gorodn puts Carl Edwards and Joey Logano a lap down.

Lap 312 -- Not a lot of passing going on right now as the leaders are just turning laps.

Lap 309 -- Jeff Gordon has caught Carl Edwards and is about to put him a lap down again.

Lap 303 -- Tony Stewart up to 17th as he tries to find some speed in these final 200 laps.

Lap 297 -- Kevin Harvick losing some ground as he falls to eighth after being passed by A.J. Allmendinger.

Lap 295 -- Lap traffic is slowing Jeff Gordon down, allowing Jimmie Johnson to catch the leader.

Lap 291 -- Everything is nice and calm right now, but we are approaching 200 to go and drivers will get impatient once again.

Lap 285 -- Jeff Burton gets shuffled out of line and falls from eighth to 11th.

Lap 280 -- The top 10 are pretty much holding their positions after the restart got settled.

Lap 273 -- Carl Edwards just unable to work his way through the field as he sits 24th, right where he restarted.

Lap 268 -- Brad Keselowski was almost a lap down early and is now sixth.

Lap 265 -- Kevin Harvick gets stuck on the outside and falls to seventh.

Lap 263 -- GREEN FLAG: Jeff Gordon brings the field to the green followed by Jimmie Johnson, Kyle Busch, Denny Hamlin and Matt Kenseth.

Lap 261 -- Clint Bowyer too fast on pit road and will start from the rear.

Lap 260 -- The leaders hit pit road. Jimmie Johnson with four tires and a chassis adjustment. Jeff Gordon with four tires and no changes. Matt Kenseth with four tires and a track bar adjustment. Kyle Busch with four tires and a track bar and wedge adjustment.

Lap 258 -- YELLOW FLAG NO. 9: Mark Martin spins on the backstretch bringing out the caution. Carl Edwards gets the free pass and just like that is back on the lead lap.

Lap 255 -- Jeff Gordon goes to the outside in Turn 4 and puts Carl Edwards a lap down.

Lap 252 -- Jeff Gordon puts David Gilliland a lap down. Carl Edwards is next.

Lap 250 -- Hey, we are halfway through the race. Jeff Gordon leads and Matt Kenseth is the current points leader.

Lap 247 -- Carl Edwards has been unable to recover from the tire issue on pit road and he runs 25th. Jeff Gordon is closing fast to put him a lap down.

Lap 243 -- Travis Kvapil goes a lap down.

Lap 242 -- Tony Stewart is confused as to why his car seems to be getting worse. He currently runs 21st.

Lap 240 -- Jeff Gordon puts Ken Schrader a lap down.

Lap 238 -- Denny Hamlin gets around Jimmie Johnson for third.

Lap 237 -- Kevin Harvick gets around Matt Kenseth for fifth.

Lap 235 -- Jeff Gordon completes the pass of Kyle Busch in Turn 4 to lead.

Lap 232 -- Jeff Gordon has caught Kyle Busch. How good has Gordon been? He was down to 41st after the first caution and has made 11 pit stops today.

Lap 230 -- After all the craziness early, Chase drivers hold the top seven positions.

Lap 225 -- Well, that didn't take long. Jeff Gordon cruises around Jimmie Johnson for second and has his eyes on the lead.

Lap 221 -- Jeff Gordon one of the fastest on the track as he catches Jimmie Johnson and is challenging for second.

Lap 218 -- Jeff Gordon passes Denny Hamlin for third.

Lap 216 -- Kevin Harvick shuffles Greg Biffle to the outside and grabs sixth. Biffle loses multiple positions.

Lap 215 -- Jimmie Johnson, Denny Hamlin and Jeff Gordon racing for second.

Lap 212 -- Dale Earnhardt Jr. all over the bumper of Jeff Burton for eighth.

Lap 208 -- Dale Earnhardt Jr. up to ninth as he passes A.J. Allmendinger.

Lap 207 -- Jeff Burton back in the top 10 as he runs eighth.

Lap 205 -- Kyle Busch back out front. Bobby Labonte to the garage.

Lap 204 -- Jimmie Johnson and Kyle Busch side-by-side with Johnson leading the lap.

Lap 203 -- GREEN FLAG: Kyle Busch brings the field to the green followed by Jimmie Johnson, Denny Hamlin, Jeff Gordon and Matt Kenseth.

Lap 199 -- The top five all come out the same way they came in. Carl Edwards with a long stop after some tire issues.

Lap 198 -- Pit road is open and the leaders all come in. Jimmie Johnson with a wedge adjustment. Jeff Gordon with four tires. Matt Kenseth with four tires and an air pressure adjustment. Kyle Busch with no chassis changes.

Lap 196 -- YELLOW FLAG NO. 8: Bobby Labonte and Hermie Sadler get together and Labonte spins for a second time. All of this happening right next to leader Kyle Busch. Joey Logano gets the free pass and is back on the lead lap.

Lap 194 -- Kyle Busch continues to lead and has led 87 of the 194 laps run.

Lap 192 -- Jeff Gordon up to fourth as he passes Matt Kenseth. Keep an eye on the No. 24, he's coming.

Lap 190 -- Kevin Harvick gets around Martin Truex Jr. for eighth.

Lap 186 -- Jeff Gordon is flying and is now closing on Matt Kenseth for fourth.

Lap 184 -- Kyle Busch puts Bobby Labonte two laps down.

Lap 181 -- Jeff Gordon on the move as he is now up to fifth.

Lap 178 -- Tony Stewart now 19th and he is just not happy with his No. 14 and the way it turns.

Lap 176 -- Hermie Sadler again goes a lap down.

Lap 174 -- After restarting with the lead, Ryan Newman has plummeted to 10th.

Lap 172 -- The top four of Kyle Busch, Jimmie Johnson, Denny Hamlin and Matt Kenseth have put some distance between each other.

Lap 168 -- Jeff Gordon up to ninth. Carl Edwards 19th after his long pit stop.

Lap 164 -- Kyle Busch looks like the car to beat as he once again opens up a two-second lead.

Lap 162 -- Jimmie Johnson gets around Denny Hamlin for second. Kevin Harvick down to 10th.

Lap 160 -- David Ragan is back on the track scored 40 laps down.

Lap 159 -- Kevin Harvick stuck on the outside and down to seventh.

Lap 156 -- Kyle Busch does the crossover and passes Ryan Newman for the lead.

Lap 155 -- GREEN FLAG: Ryan Newman brings the field to the green.

Lap 154 -- Juan Montoya speeds on pit road again and will start from the rear. Bobby Labonte goes a lap down after an extended stop.

Lap 153 -- Travis Kvapil stays out and leads. Hermie Sadler takes the wave-around and is back on the lead lap.

Lap 150 -- The leaders hit pit road. Jimmie Johnson with four tires. Kevin Harvick with four tires. Denny Hamlin with an air pressure adjustment. Kyle Busch with an air pressure adjustment. Carl Edwards with four tires and a long stop.

Lap 149 -- YELLOW FLAG NO. 7: Yes, I jinxed it. Dale Earnhardt Jr. gets aggressive and hits Joey Logano, sending Logano around and into the wall. Regan Smith gets the free pass and is back on the lead lap.

Lap 148 -- Regan Smith goes a lap down. Ryan Newman up to eighth and Jeff Gordon up to 10th as they look to get back up front.

Lap 145 -- Not to jinx it, but I believe this is our longest green-flag run of the day.

Lap 144 -- Jimmie Johnson finally caught Greg Biffle and is around him for second.

Lap 143 -- Kyle Busch puts Dave Blaney and Hermie Sadler a lap down.

Lap 140 -- Brad Keselowski the lowest-running Chase driver in 28th.

Lap 135 -- Jimmie Johnson is reeling in Greg Biffle for second.

Lap 134 -- Kyle Busch is checking out and close to lapping the tail end of the field.

Lap 129 -- Kyle Busch out front by 2.3 seconds on Greg Biffle. Biffle has a two-second cushion to third-place Jimmie Johnson.

Lap 127 -- Ryan Newman up to 16th. Jeff Gordon is 15th.

Lap 126 -- Nice run for Martin Truex Jr. early at Martinsville as he runs seventh.

Lap 124 -- Tony Stewart and Jimmie Johnson racing for fifth. Kevin Harvick challenging A.J. Allmendinger for third.

Lap 119 -- Kyle Busch rockets around A.J. Allmendinger and takes the lead. Greg Biffle follows Busch and is second.

Lap 118 -- Dale Earnhardt Jr. has a tire rub and may have to pit.

Lap 116 -- Greg Biffle on the move as he passes Kevin Harvick for third.

Lap 115 -- Jimmie Johnson on the outside of Carl Edwards for ninth.

Lap 113 -- Greg Biffle also passes Juan Montoya and moves to fourth.

Lap 112 -- Juan Montoya again struggles with the restart and falls to fourth as Kevin Harvick and Kyle Busch pass him.

Lap 111 -- GREEN FLAG: A.J. Allmendinger brings the field to the green followed by Juan Montoya, Kevin Harvick, Greg Biffle and Denny Hamlin.

Lap 109 -- Ryan Newman pitted from the lead and will restart 24th.

Lap 108 -- A.J. Allmendinger stays out, as does most of the field, and is back out front.

Lap 107 -- Ryan Newman gives up the lead and pits. Kurt Busch, Dave Blaney, Casey Mears and Marcos Ambrose also pit.

Lap 105 -- YELLOW FLAG NO. 6: Marcos Ambrose and Juan Montoya were racing for third when they got together sending Ambrose around and into the wall. Ambrose has some front-end damage. Bobby Labonte gets the free pass and is back on the lead lap.

Lap 102 -- Kasey Kahne now four laps down as he remains on pit road. David Ragan to the garage.

Lap 99 -- Kasey Kahne hits pit road to repair the damage.

Lap 98 -- Bobby Labonte spins after getting bumped by Dave Blaney but is able to get going and stay on the track, although he is a lap down. Kasey Kahne couldn't stop in time and hits Labonte but the race stays green.

Lap 97 -- Juan Montoya struggles on the restart and Marcos Ambrose and A.J. Allmendinger get around him.

Lap 96 -- GREEN FLAG: Ryan Newman brings the field to the green.

Lap 95 -- Jeff Gordon back on pit road.

Lap 94 -- Would you believe this race isn't even 20 percent completed? Crazy beginning to this race. Nine cars are in the garage.

Lap 92 -- Jeff Gordon won the race off pit road but is restarting 22nd. The top 21 cars stayed out.

Lap 91 -- Joey Logano hits pit road.

Lap 88 -- Jamie McMurray tried to retaliate on Brian Vickers for the earlier spin and McMurray missed and slammed the backstretch wall. McMurray's race is over as the car is destroyed.

Lap 87 -- Dale Earnhardt Jr., Jeff Gordon, Kurt Busch, Jimmie Johnson, Brian Vickers, Brad Keselowski, Matt Kenseth, Jeff Burton, Joey Logano and Jamie McMurray all on pit road.

Lap 86 -- Jamie McMurray unable to get going before the leaders catch him and he goes a lap down.

Lap 85 -- YELLOW FLAG NO. 5: Jamie McMurray spins in Turn 3 and slams the wall after contact with Brian Vickers. No free pass is given and that makes four cautions that the No. 83 was involved.

Lap 84 -- David Ragan down to eighth.

Lap 82 -- What a comeback for Brian Vickers, who was involved in three separate incidents, and finds himself 11th.

Lap 81 -- Kurt Busch shuffled to the outside and could lose a ton of positions. He's currently seventh.

Lap 79 -- Dale Earnhardt Jr. has cleared David Ragan so that duel is done ... for now.

Lap 78 -- Scott Speed takes the No. 46 to the garage.

Lap 75 -- Ryan Newman has opened up a 1.7-second lead do to the shenanigans of David Ragan and Dale Earnhardt Jr. for second.

Lap 73 -- Dale Earnhardt Jr. and David Ragan are hitting each other multiple times as neither is happy with the other.

Lap 72 -- Ryan Newman jumps out to the lead. David Ragan and Dale Earnhardt Jr. with contact for second.

Lap 71 -- GREEN FLAG: Ryan Newman brings the field to the green followed by Dale Earnhardt Jr., David Ragan, Casey Mears and Kurt Busch.

Lap 69 -- Ryan Newman gets the lead as he and 14 others stay out.

Lap 68 -- Denny Hamlin brings the leaders in. Jimmie Johnson with four tires and a track bar adjustment. Tony Stewart with four tires and a track bar adjustment. Denny Hamlin and Kyle Busch with track bar and air pressure adjustments.

Lap 65 -- YELLOW FLAG NO. 4: David Reutimann spins in Turn 2 collecting Martin Truex Jr., Reed Sorenson and Scott Speed. The good news, Brian Vickers wasn't involved. No free pass is given.

Lap 63 -- Denny Hamlin finds himself in a very similar position ... out front at Martinsville.

Lap 62 -- Carl Edwards tells his spotter to tell Dale Earnhardt Jr. to settle down or he is going to get wrecked.

Lap 60 -- A.J. Allmendinger isn't the only non-Chaser in the top 10. Jeff Burton is eighth and Kasey Kahne is ninth.

Lap 58 -- Denny Hamlin was as low as 34th and is now up to second.

Lap 56 -- Kyle Busch falls to third as Denny Hamlin gets around him.

Lap 55 -- A.J. Allmendinger finally clears Kyle Busch and leads.

Lap 53 -- David Stremme takes his car to the garage.

Lap 52 -- A.J. Allmendinger and Kyle Busch side-by-side for the lead. Allmendinger holding his own with Busch.

Lap 51 -- GREEN FLAG: Kyle Busch brings the field to the green followed by A.J. Allmendinger, Tony Stewart, Jimmie Johnson and Denny Hamlin

Lap 50 -- Juan Montoya too fast on pit road and will start at the rear.

Lap 48 -- Jeff Gordon, Kurt Busch, Brad Keselowski, Juan Montoya and Marcos Ambrose on pit road. Gordon says his overheating issue seems to be gone. Keselowski with four tires and Busch takes four as well.

Lap 46 -- YELLOW FLAG NO. 3: Brian Vickers is 3-for-3 with cautions as he spins after trying to get inside of Juan Montoya. Montoya has damage as a result. Regan Smith gets the free pass and is back on the lead lap.

Lap 45 -- A.J. Allmendinger on a mission as he passes Tony Stewart for second.

Lap 43 -- J.J. Yeley to the garage. Carl Edwards going backwards as Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Jeff Gordon get around him.

Lap 41 -- Brad Keselowski stuck on the outside once again and loses multiple positions, down to 12th.

Lap 40 -- Kyle Busch gets past Tony Stewart for the lead.

Lap 38 -- A.J. Allmendinger up to fourth. Dale Earnhardt Jr. all over Carl Edwards for 13th.

Lap 36 -- Regan Smith back out on the track one lap down.

Lap 35 -- GREEN FLAG: Tony Stewart brings the field to the green followed by Kyle Busch, Jimmie Johnson, Brad Keselowski and Kurt Busch.

Lap 34 -- Landon Cassill and Joe Nemechek to the garage.

Lap 33 -- The top 13 stayed out, everyone else behind them pitted. Regan Smith being black flagged for extensive damage.

Lap 32 -- Tony Stewart inherits the lead after Carl Edwards dips to pit road.

Lap 31 -- Pit road is open and this will be considered the competition caution that was scheduled for Lap 40. Carl Edwards gives up the lead and pits while many of the other leaders stay out. Greg Biffle, Kevin Harvick, Ryan Newman most everyone behind them comes in.

Lap 29 -- Jeff Gordon has some overheating issues from his earlier crash.

Lap 27 -- YELLOW FLAG NO. 2: Dave Blaney spins in Turn 3 collecting Brian Vickers and Regan Smith. No one is a lap down so no free pass.

Lap 26 -- Kyle Busch passes Matt Kenseth for third.

Lap 24 -- Mike Skinner out of the race and in the garage.

Lap 23 -- Brad Keselowski stuck on the outside and loses spots to Kyle Busch and Jimmie Johnson.

Lap 22 -- Carl Edwards gets clear of Tony Stewart and re-claims the lead.

Lap 21 -- GREEN FLAG: Carl Edwards brings the field to the green followed by Tony Stewart, Matt Kenseth, Brad Keselowski and Kyle Busch.

Lap 19 -- All the drivers pitting before Lap 17 are penalized for pitting too soon.

Lap 17 -- Marcos Ambrose, Casey Mears, Denny Hamlin, Jeff Burton, Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Jeff Gordon all pit as pit road is finally open.

Lap 16 -- Regan Smith on pit road.

Lap 15 -- Brian Vickers back on pit road for more repairs.

Lap 14 -- Jeff Gordon continues to pit every caution lap. It looks like most of the damage is repaired. Brian Vickers back on pit road.

Lap 13 -- Despite all the pit stops, Jeff Gordon, Brian Vickers and Regan Smith all remain on the lead lap.

Lap 12 -- Regan Smith, Jeff Gordon and Brian Vickers all return to pit road for damage repair.

Lap 10 -- Brian Vickers, Regan Smith, Dale Earnhardt Jr., Reed Sorenson and Jeff Gordon all on pit road.

Lap 9 -- Jeff Gordon on pit road as they have major front-end damage.

Lap 8 -- YELLOW FLAG NO. 1: Big crash in Turn 1 as Kurt Busch and Dale Earnhardt Jr. spin racing for seventh collecting Denny Hamlin, Jeff Gordon, A.J. Allmendinger, Brian Vickers, Mike Skinner and Jeff Burton.

Lap 7 -- Carl Edwards has opened up his lead and Tony Stewart is now comfortably second.

Lap 5 -- Tony Stewart goes inside of Matt Kenseth for second and Kenseth brushes the wall.

Lap 4 -- Carl Edwards finally edges Matt Kenseth for the lead.

Lap 3 -- Carl Edwards and Matt Kenseth still side-by-side for the lead.

Lap 1 -- Matt Kenseth leads the first lap on the outside.

2:02 p.m. ET -- GREEN FLAG: Carl Edwards brings the field to the green for 500 laps at Martinsville.

1:56 p.m. ET -- The cars are rolling off pit road for four warm-up laps.

1:53 p.m. ET -- Ashley Young, winner of the Tums Sweepstakes, gives the command: "Gentlemen, start your engines!"

1:46 p.m. ET -- North Carolina A&T State University Blue and Gold Marching Machine perform the national anthem.

1:45 p.m. ET -- Tony Beach, associate Pastor at Ft. Trial Baptist Church in Stanleytown, Va., delivers the Invocation.

1:11 p.m. ET -- Six Chase drivers are winless at Martinsville: Kyle Busch, Dale Earnhardt Jr., Carl Edwards, Matt Kenseth, Brad Keselowski and Ryan Newman.

8:01 a.m. ET -- Denny Hamlin and Jimmie Johnson have won nine of the past 10 races at Martinsville. The one exception? Kevin Harvick, who won this year's spring race.

7:57 a.m. ET -- It's going to be chilly in Martinsville, so chilly the crews may need to pull out the ice scrapers this morning, but it's going to be beautiful in Southern Virginia.
