In the Draft: Sadler heading back to where this journey began

One year ago at Texas, Sadler made the announcement he was heading to KHI

What a difference a year makes. This time last year, I made the decision to move to the Nationwide Series to compete with Kevin Harvick Inc. We announced it at Texas Motor Speedway, and it has been a whirlwind ever since.

"It's been a really great journey the past year. I've had the support of everyone at KHI and been able to be a part of a pretty special team."

The day of the announcement, I actually got the pole at Texas in the Sprint Cup Series, which was interesting, as I was reentering the Nationwide Series for my first full season since 1998. It's been a really great journey the past year. I've had the support of everyone at KHI and been able to be a part of a pretty special team. Our entire team, including crew chief Ernie Cope, is extremely competitive, which gives me even more incentive to keep pushing harder. When everyone around you is fighting for the same goal, the reward is even sweeter.

We're heading into this last stretch of three races with our eyes straight ahead and our attention as focused as we've been all season. You work all season to get to this point, to be in contention for the championship. To be able to hoist that trophy at the end of the season with all of people behind you that have supported you for the entire season.

It's cool to head back to Texas, where it all began a year ago, and be able to go there and compete for not only the race win, but also put the pressure on to win the championship. I've had some success at Texas in the past, including a top-five finish there earlier this season.

As for Phoenix, it's going to be interesting to say the least. None of us have been to Phoenix since the repave earlier this season, so it's going be a bit of a "wild card" race. Our team knows that it's going to be that much more important to unload quickly at Phoenix and start making laps to help with our setup.

We've come a long way from this time last season, and I'm looking forward to enjoying the next few races.

On a personal note, my wife, Amanda, and I expect to have our second child in the upcoming week. We are all ready to have our new baby girl at home!

Until next time...HOLLA!
