1983: Neil Bonnett gets his second win at Atlanta, beating Buddy Baker to the line by .410 seconds in the Atlanta Journal 500. Bonnett wins three times at Atlanta, which ties with Rockingham as Bonnett's most successful track in the Cup series. Bonnett's margin of victory on this day also is his largest of his wins at the 1.522-mile track. His first win, in 1979, was by a half car length (over Dale Earnhardt), and his win two years later was by one car length (over Darrell Waltrip).
