In the Draft: Homestead means family time just days away

With the addition of Austyn Rose, Sadler ready for some quiet time at home

It's hard to believe that it's time to head down to Homestead-Miami Speedway. This time of year always has so much going on, and it seems like you look at the calendar for Daytona and before you know it, we are heading to Homestead for the final race of the season.

"After Homestead, you can find me hanging out with my family or in a tree stand, but one thing is for sure: I can't wait for Daytona to get back at it all over again."

It has been a great season for the No. 2 OneMain Financial team. We've definitely had our ups and downs, but one thing is for sure ... we never gave up. I've said from the beginning that my team has a competitive edge, and that is something that really helps a driver stay focused throughout the entire season.

Although last weekend at Phoenix International Raceway did not go as planned, I couldn't be prouder of everyone involved in our race team. We were involved in an incident with 25 laps to go, putting us out of the race and pushing our championship hopes almost out of reach. Although it was a disheartening day, to be surrounded by people who support you is something that lasts longer than the sting of a loss.

I have to thank Kevin and DeLana [Harvick] for providing me an opportunity to race for their team this season. I'm headed to Richard Childress Racing next season, still in the No. 2 Chevrolet, ready to get back at it and go after this Nationwide Series championship with even more of a passion.

Life continues to get sweeter off the racetrack. My wife Amanda had our second child Austyn Rose Sadler last week, and I could not be more thrilled to have our baby girl home. Our son Wyatt is 20 months old, and all he wants to do is play with his new sister. It's such a great feeling to come home after a hard weekend to a new addition to our family.

After Homestead, you can find me hanging out with my family or in a tree stand, but one thing is for sure: I can't wait for Daytona to get back at it all over again.

Thank you to all of my fans and supporters this year. It's been a really great season, and I'm looking forward to getting to the track for the final time this season in Homestead and getting our car in Victory Lane.

Until next time...HOLLA!
