Lap 267 -- CHECKERED FLAG: Matt Kenseth scores the victory, his third of the season and second during the Chase. Point leaders Brad Keselowski takes eighth, Jimmie Johnson ninth and Denny Hamlin 13th.

Lap 265 -- The lead has shrunk to 1.2 seconds, but it's probably too little too late, right? Right?

Lap 263 -- Kasey Kahne has caught Paul Menard for third place.

Lap 262 -- Five laps to go. Matt Kenseth leads Martin Truex Jr. by 1.7 seconds.

Lap 259 -- Martin Truex Jr. has erased about half a second off Matt Kenseth's lead in the last couple of laps.

Lap 257 -- Ten to go. Denny Hamlin reports debris in Turn 4.

Lap 256 -- Kurt Busch has scraped the wall, but there's no caution so far.

Lap 254 -- Kasey Kahne grabs fourth place from Tony Stewart.

Lap 252 -- Brad Keselowski is looking to get around Jeff Gordon for eighth place, and Gordon isn't making it easy on him with a big-time block going down the backstretch. Keselowski takes the position coming off Turn 4.

Lap 250 -- Matt Kenseth is checking out, his lead now up to more than two seconds over Martin Truex Jr.

Lap 248 -- Brad Keselowski is ninth and Jimmie Johnson 10th.

Lap 247 -- Twenty laps to go.

Lap 245 -- The gap between Matt Kenseth and Martin Truex Jr. has grown to 1.4 seconds.

Lap 242 -- Matt Kenseth has jumped out to a lead of 7/10ths of a second over second-place Martin Truex Jr.

Lap 240 -- Kasey Kahne is going after Tony Stewart for fourth place.

Lap 239 -- GREEN FLAG: The leaders are Matt Kenseth, Paul Menard, Regan Smith, Martin Truex Jr. and Tony Stewart. Kenseth is clears with the lead as Smith gets swallowed up in traffic behind him.

Lap 237 -- Denny Hamlin, Mark Martin and several others are pitting.

Lap 234 -- YELLOW FLAG: Sam Hornish Jr. slides up into the wall in Turns 1 and 2.

Lap 233 -- Matt Kenseth leads Kasey Kahne by 2.3 seconds.

Lap 232 -- Regan Smith has been told to forget about saving fuel. Go for it, hoss!

Lap 230 -- Regan Smith tries to get position under Paul Menard for third place in Turns 1 and 2, but can't make the move stick.

Lap 229 -- Brad Keselowski moves back into the top 10.

Lap 226 -- Kasey Kahne goes to the outside of Paul Menard for second on the backstretch.

Lap 225 -- Regan Smith is up to fourth!

Lap 223 -- Tony Stewart has dropped from second to sixth since the restart.

Lap 222 -- GREEN FLAG: Matt Kenseth, Tony Stewart, Kasey Kahne, Paul Menard and Clint Bowyer are the leaders on the restart. Kenseth is clear for the lead in Turn 2. Menard goes to the outside to take second!

Lap 220 -- Jimmie Johnson is pitting.

Lap 219 -- Mark Martin is pitting to top off his fuel supply.

Lap 218 -- The leaders are on pit road.

Lap 217 -- There are 50 laps remaining.

Lap 216 -- The 13 cautions tie the mark for most this season. The August race at Bristol also had an unlucky 13 yellow flags.

Lap 215 -- The field is being brought down pit road to avoid the accident site in Turn 4.

Lap 213 -- YELLOW FLAG: Aric Almirola tags the wall in Turn 4. This is the 13 caution of the event.

Lap 212 -- Mark Martin makes his stop.

Lap 208 -- Denny Hamlin is on it road.

Lap 196 -- Kasey Kahne makes it back into the top five when he passes Denny Hamlin.

Lap 194 -- Despite his accident earlier in the race, Jimmie Johnson is currently being shown in 13th place.

Lap 192 -- Point leader Brad Keselowski is in eighth place.

Lap 190 -- In his ESPN interview, Kyle Busch promised some payback before the year for Ryan Newman.

Lap 189 -- Paul Menard hustles past Clint Bowyer for second place.

Lap 188 -- GREEN FLAG: Mark Martin, Clint Bowyer, Paul Menard, Denny Hamlin and Kasey Kahne are the top five on the restart. Martin is again clear for the lead in Turns 1 and 2.

Lap 186 -- Rick Hendrick is now clarifying his comments from the pre-race show concerning Dale Earnhardt Jr. Junior still has some tests to pass before he races at Martinsville.

Lap 183 -- Brad Keselowski says that if he wins the championship, video of him missing that accident should be in the highlight reel.

Lap 181 -- YELLOW FLAG: Kyle Busch and Ryan Newman get turned around in Turn 4. Sam Hornish Jr. also sustains damage in the mishap, and incredibly, Brad Keselowski does not!

Lap 180 -- GREEN FLAG: Mark Martin, Matt Kenseth, Clint Bowyer, Paul Menard and Kasey Kahne are the leaders on the restart. Martin is clear for the lead on the backstretch.

Lap 178 -- The restart was waved off after more debris was spotted on the track.

Lap 177 -- Matt Kenseth is on pit road.

Lap 176 -- Greg Biffle missed the rear of Clint Bowyer's car by mere inches. That was CLOSE!

Lap 174 -- YELLOW FLAG: Greg Biffle gets into the wall coming off Turn 4. He was in third place.

Lap 172 -- GREEN FLAG: Mark Martin, Aric Almirola, Matt Kenseth, Clint Bowyer and Greg Biffle are the top five on the restart. Almirola spins off Turn 2, but there's no caution!

Lap 171 -- One to go at the stripe.

Lap 169 -- YELLOW FLAG: Marcos Ambrose and Trevor Bayne get together in Turns 3 and 4.

Lap 168 -- GREEN FLAG: Mark Martin, Denny Hamlin, Clint Bowyer, Aric Almirola and Paul Menard are the leaders. Martin is clear for the top spot as there's trouble behind him.

Lap 167 -- Kevin Harvick, Jimmie Johnson, Carl Edwards, Jamie McMurray and a few others are pitting. There are 100 laps remaining.

Lap 166 -- Tony Stewart had flat tires all around, slid halfway down the backstretch and still never hit anything!

Lap 165 -- YELLOW FLAG: Tony Stewart spins on the backstretch.

Lap 163 -- GREEN FLAG: Denny Hamlin, Mark Martin, Jimmie Johnson, Aric Almirola and Matt Kenseth are the leaders. Martin is clear with the lead in Turn 2.

Lap 162 -- Kurt Busch, Sam Hornish Jr., Kevin Harvick and a few others are on pit road.

Lap 161 -- One to go at the stripe!

Lap 157 -- The leaders are on it road. It appears that the contact Danica Patrick made with Landon Cassill might have been ... well ... intentional.

Lap 155 -- YELLOW FLAG: Landon Cassill and Danica Patrick crash in Turn 2.

Lap 153 -- Matt Kenseth is about 9/10ths of a second in front of Paul Menard.

Lap 151 -- Greg Biffle eases his way past Ryan Newman for fifth place.

Lap 150 -- Marcos Ambrose is having a good run in seventh place.

Lap 148 -- Paul Menard is now in second place, Jeff Gordon in third.

Lap 146 -- GREEN FLAG: Matt Kenseth, Jeff Gordon, Clint Bowyer, Paul Menard and Greg Biffle are the leaders on the restart. Kenseth powers clears with the lead in Turn 2.

Lap 144 -- Jimmie Johnson is pitting ... again. Aric Almirola is also stopping under the caution.

Lap 143 -- YELLOW FLAG: Bobby Labonte loses control between Turns 3 and 4 and backs into the wall.

Lap 142 -- GREEN FLAG: Matt Kenseth, Clint Bowyer, Greg Biffle, Jeff Gordon and Paul Menard are the leaders on the restart. After multiple stops, Jimmie Johnson is scored in 28th place. Kenseth is clear for the lead in Turns 1 and 2.

Lap 138 -- Mark Martin, Danica Patrick, Aric Almirola and Denny Hamlin are on pit road.

Lap 137 -- Jimmie Johnson is in his pit stall. His crew is hammering on the rear deck lid.

Lap 136 -- YELLOW FLAG: Jimmie Johnson backs into the wall in Turn 4.

Lap 134 -- There was a piece of duct work on the track, but it's gone after Matt Kenseth hit it. The race has reached the halfway point.

Lap 132 -- Matt Kenseth has a little bit of a cushion over Clint Bowyer as they enter Turn 1.

Lap 130 -- Kyle Busch wiggles huge in Turn 4, but gathers his car back up and motors onward!

Lap 128 -- GREEN FLAG: Clint Bowyer, Matt Kenseth, Paul Menard, Jeff Gordon and Greg Biffle lead the field to the restart. Former leader Jimmie Johnson is back in 21st place after getting caught by the caution. Kenseth flies to the outside with the lead in Turns 1 and 2.

Lap 125 -- The leaders are on pit road.

Lap 124 -- Clint Bowyer is now the leader.

Lap 122 -- YELLOW FLAG: Leader Aric Almirola has had a tire problem. He slaps the wall. This is the fifth caution of the day. Denny Hamlin was on pit road when the yellow came out.

Lap 121 -- Kurt Busch and Martin Truex Jr. are pitting.

Lap 120 -- Leader Jimmie Johnson is on pit road. Mark Martin is also stopping.

Lap 119 -- Jimmie Johnson said several laps ago that he doesn't want his team to be fooled into believing they're better than they are today.

Lap 117 -- Paul Menard, who had a good run in Saturday's Nationwide Series race, is in 11th place.

Lap 115 -- Aric Almirola is now within half a second of leader Jimmie Johnson.

Lap 113 -- The top five are Jimmie Johnson, Aric Almirola, Clint Bowyer, Kurt Busch and Martin Truex Jr.

Lap 111 -- Jeff Gordon moves by Regan Smith for eighth place.

Lap 108 -- Aric Almirola has chopped a few tenths of a second off Jimmie Johnson's advantage up front.

Lap 106 -- Jimmie Johnson and Aric Almirola are about four seconds ahead of third-place Clint Bowyer.

Lap 104 -- Jimmie Johnson has moved out to about a second lead over Aric Almirola.

Lap 100 -- Regan Smith is now up to eighth place.

Lap 98 -- Jimmie Johnson now leads Aric Almirola by 7/10ths of a second.

Lap 95 -- Kurt Busch has moved up to fourth place for Furniture Row Motorsports.

Lap 92 -- Aric Almirola is staying within striking distance of Jimmie Johnson for the lead.

Lap 91 -- Carl Edwards is in 11th place.

Lap 89 -- Regan Smith, driving in a substitute role for Dale Earnhardt Jr., is now in ninth place. He started 39th!

Lap 87 -- GREEN FLAG: Jimmie Johnson, Aric Almirola, Mark Martin Clint Bowyer and Jeff Gordon are the leaders on the restart. Johnson rockets free and clear as the field crosses under the starter's stand.

Lap 85 -- Brad Keselowski, Kevin Harvick, Jamie McMurray, Trevor Bayne, Danica Patrick and a few others are pitting.

Lap 83 -- YELLOW FLAG: Jeff Burton has met with trouble coming off Turn 4 after getting nudged into the wall by Tony Stewart.

Lap 82 -- Kyle Busch got way loose the last lap, and he's still losing positions.

Lap 81 -- Martin Truex Jr. is looking good so far Sunday. He's in fifth place.

Lap 79 -- Aric Almirola is up to speed after the restart bobble. He's holding steady in second place.

Lap 77 -- GREEN FLAG: Jimmie Johnson, Aric Almirola, Mark Martin, Clint Bowyer and Jeff Gordon are the leaders on the restart. Almirola has a slow start, jamming the field up behind him. Johnson is clear for the top spot.

Lap 74 -- The leaders are on pit road. Greg Biffle will be penalized for speeding while exiting the pits. Tony Stewart has a very slow stop.

Lap 73 -- Pit road will be open next time by.

Lap 72 -- MRN is airing a commercial featuring the legendary Bobby Allison! Awesome!

Lap 71 -- YELLOW FLAG: A.J. Allmendinger wrecks between Turns 3 and 4 after blowing a tire entering the corner.

Lap 68 -- The top five is Aric Almirola, Jimmie Johnson, Greg Biffle, Matt Kenseth and Ryan Newman.

Lap 66 -- Clint Bowyer, a native of Emporia, Kan., is currently running in 11th place.

Lap 64 -- Casey Mears is officially out of the race due to his accident.

Lap 62 -- Jimmie Johnson says his car is loose.

Lap 61 -- Matt Kenseth moves past Ryan Newman for fourth place.

Lap 59 -- Points leader Brad Keselowski, after starting 25th, is now up to 10th place.

Lap 57 -- Greg Biffle is now shown in third place, four seconds behind the leader.

Lap 55 -- A.J. Allmendinger is in sixth place.

Lap 53 -- Aric Almirola is cruising, but it's still fairly early. He's 1.7 seconds ahead of second-place Jimmie Johnson.

Lap 51 -- Remember ... this is one those funky-lapped events, with 267 making up the distance in Sunday's event.

Lap 50 -- Jimmie Johnson has moved past Ryan Newman for the runnerup spot.

Lap 47 -- Joey Logano and Matt Kenseth pass Kasey Kahne on either side going into Turn 3. That was for sixth place.

Lap 46 -- Jimmie Johnson was working under Ryan Newman for second place, but Newman holds him off.

Lap 45 -- GREEN FLAG: Aric Almirola, Ryan Newman, Jimmie Johnson, Kasey Kahne and Greg Biffle are the leaders on the restart. Almirola zooms clear for the lead going into Turn 1.

Lap 43 -- None of the leaders pitted during this caution.

Lap 41 -- YELLOW FLAG: Kyle Busch spins off Turn 4. This is the second caution of the race.

Lap 39 -- Four wide! Incredibly, everybody gets through in one piece after Mark Martin scoots up the track.

Lap 37 -- GREEN FLAG: Aric Almirola, Kyle Busch, Ryan Newman, Kasey Kahne and Mark Martin are the leaders on the restart. Denny Hamlin took four tires on the stop, and starts in 17th place. Almirola clears for the lead between Turns 3 and 4.

Lap 34 -- The leaders are pitting. Most take just two tires.

Lap 32 -- YELLOW FLAG: Casey Mears has popped the wall. This is the first caution of the event.

Lap 31 -- Aric Almirola ... holy cow. His gap over second place is now up to 4.8 seconds.

Lap 28 -- Kasey Kahne is back to seventh place after starting from the pole.

Lap 26 -- Leader Aric Almirola has worked through some lapped traffic, and now it's second-place Mark Martin's turn to sort it out!

Lap 24 -- Joe Nemechek has taken his car to the garage.

Lap 23 -- Aric Almirola now leads Mark Martin by 2.7 seconds.

Lap 22 -- Greg Biffle is moving forward early!

Lap 19 -- Kasey Kahne has dropped another spot, to sixth. But he says the car is coming back to him.

Lap 17 -- Jimmie Johnson is shown in 10th place, about eight seconds behind leader Aric Almirola.

Lap 15 -- Kyle Busch is moving in on Mark Martin for second place. They're on the frontstretch now.

Lap 13 -- Clint Bowyer, back in ninth place, is reported by MRN to already be working on a fuel mileage strategy.

Lap 12 -- Aric Almirola has scooted out to a 1.2-second lead over Mark Martin.

Lap 10 -- Kasey Kahne has stabilized his position on the track since losing a few spots early. He's now in fifth place.

Lap 8 -- It's always coooooooool to see the number 43 at the top of the leaderboard!

Lap 7 -- Aric Almirola passes Mark Martin for the lead on the backstretch.

Lap 6 -- Mark Martin and Aric Almirola lead third-place Kyle Busch by a few car lengths.

Lap 5 -- Aric Almirola is feisty in the opening laps. He's working on Mark Martin for the lead!

Lap 3 -- Aric Almirola blows past Kasey Kahne for second place in Turn 1, and by the time the lap is over, Kyle Busch and Ryan Newman have also gotten around Kahne.

Lap 1 -- GREEN FLAG: The race gets under way at 2:23 p.m. ET. Mark Martin clears for the lead coming off Turn 2. Behind him, Clint Bowyer gets way loose, forcing the field to scramble around him.

2:17 p.m. ET -- Going green the third time by the starter's stand!

2:16 p.m. ET -- The field is beginning to roll off pit road.

2:15 p.m. ET -- The drivers are ready to participate!

2:10 p.m. ET -- Rob Riggle gives the command to fire engines.

2:05 p.m. ET -- Four A-10s from the 303rd Fighter Squadron out of Whiteman Air Force Base do the fly-over.

2:04 p.m. ET -- The 1 ID Band from Fort Reilly, Kansas plays the national anthem.

2:03 p.m. ET -- The colors are presented by 4th Brigade, 1st Infantry Division Color Guard from Fort Reilly, Kansas. Moments later, Cole Cochran from Kansas City Alliance Raceway Ministries gives the invocation.

1:55 p.m. ET -- Rick Hendrick confirms to ESPN that Dale Earnhardt Jr. will be back in the No. 88 Chevrolet at Martinsville. And all of Junior Nation said, "Amen!"

1:43 p.m. ET -- Twenty minutes until the start of the invocation and national anthem.

1:13 p.m. ET -- ESPN's Nicole Briscoe asks how folks would describe Tony Stewart. C'mon ... don't go leaving a curveball hanging like that!

1 p.m. ET -- ESPN's pre-race coverage has started. If Kid Rock can't turn you into a Jimmie Johnson fan, ain't nobody gonna be able to!

7:15 p.m. ET -- Cole Whitt, David Stremme and Josh Wise failed to qualify for the event.

7:10 p.m. ET -- Kasey Kahne is on the pole for the Hollywood Casino 400 at Kansas Speedway with a blistering-fast lap of 191.360 mph. Mark Martin, Clint Bowyer, Kyle Busch and Aric Almirola start second through fifth. Ryan Newman, Jimmie Johnson, Joey Logano, Denny Hamlin and Kevin Harvick round out the top 10.
