Born in Zephyrhills, Florida.

"My father raced dirt late models so we knew the Reutimann family. In junior high, Shawn Reutimann said, 'Hey, why don't you come out to the shop and help me work on my cousin David's dirt car? I said, 'Let's do it.'"

Spent summer break between junior and senior year of high school 
in Charlotte, working in the NEMCO Motorsports shop.

"The first car I worked on went to Loudon and won, that was cool."

Fabricator, NEMCO Motorsports.
Graduated from high school and moved to Charlotte.

"I met John Nemechek and we became pretty good friends."

Fabricator, No. 25 Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet.

"Ray Evernham was team manager. It was awesome, I learned a lot."

2004-May 2008
Crew chief, No. 41 Chip Ganassi Racing Dodge, Nationwide Series.

"We only had a full-time driver in 2005 and '06. But I'm pretty easy to get along with and those guys are all the same. When they put their helmets on, they're focused on winning. You learn how to communicate and how to get the best out of all of them."

May 2008- 2011
Crew chief, No. 42 Chip Ganassi Racing Dodge/Chevrolet.

"To be honest, I didn't want to be a crew chief. I like Sundays off. I have a wife and four children at home. Sundays off were good. But the opportunity came and I really couldn't pass it up."

August 2010
First Cup win at Watkins Glen.

"We had really good chances at Indy in '09 and '10. You get those close calls and you think to yourself, 'Are we ever going to win?' You have to have so many things go right."
