Get to know Cindy Elliott
Q-and-A with mother of Chase Elliott, wife of Bill Elliott

Hometown: "I was born in Columbus, Georgia, and moved to New Bern, North Carolina, when I was a sophomore in high school. But I will always consider myself a 'Georgia Girl.' "

Being a mom: "I consider it my greatest accomplishment in life. I enjoy every minute and look forward to being a part of every new and exciting stage of Chase's life. I have also been blessed with two stepdaughters and a granddaughter, and I am proud to be a part of their lives as well. It will always be a privilege to be 'Mom.' "

Pets: "My sweet cat, Glen -- named by the animal rescue and Bill and Chase just would not let that go -- and our very docile Doberman, Scamp -- named by Chase after the Disney movie 'Lady and the Tramp II.' "

Favorite app: " 'Brushstroke.' "

Must-see TV: " 'NCIS' and 'Psych.' I'm not sure what I will do when 'NCIS' produces its final season."

First race: "The second Pocono race of 1988. I was a visiting photographer for Winston Cup Scene at the time and had never even seen a race on television before that day. It was a short learning curve."

(Editor's note: Cindy was the 'NASCAR Illustrated' photo editor from 1990-92)

Photography: "I was extremely honored to be accepted into the NASCAR world of racing as a young, energetic photographer back in the day. I still love to capture special moments and create and learn as I go in the ever-changing world of digital imagery."

Music that moves me: "Today's country music artists in general -- Kenny Chesney, Taylor Swift and Luke Bryan."

Movies not to be missed: " 'Sherlock Holmes,' 'National Treasure,' 'Pretty Woman' and 'Mr. Deeds.' "

Websites I visit regularly: "ChaseElliott.com, NASCAR.com and Heritage.HendrickMotorsports.com"

Travel: "I love to travel, meeting new people and being exposed to new places. Colorado is one of my favorite places because every season brings new and exciting opportunities -- hiking, skiing. And I love to photograph the spring and fall colors."

Habit I'd like to kick: "Food. I love to cook and eat at the same time."

Best vacation getaway: "Thunderball Grotto in the Exuma in the Bahamas. It's home to the most beautiful sea life I have ever seen."

Biggest influence in my life: "Jesus and the Blessed Virgin Mary."
