JTG Daugherty Racing
The history of JTG Daugherty Racing and full crew for AJ Allmendinger

Manufacturer: Chevrolet
Engine Builder: ECR Engines
Debut season: 2009
Owner standings

After a successful decade-plus tenure owning a NASCAR Nationwide Series team, husband and wife Tad and Jodi Geschickter along with former NBA player and current ESPN NASCAR analyst Brad Daugherty teamed up to form JTG Daugherty Racing and debuted their team with driver Marcos Ambrose in the 2009 Daytona 500.

After initially aligning with Michael Waltrip Racing and Toyota, the team switched to Chevrolet in 2014, forming a technical alliance with Richard Childress Racing, and is powered by ECR engines.

Before former open-wheeler AJ Allmendinger became the team's third full-time driver this season, Ambrose and 2000 Sprint Cup champion Bobby Labonte drove the No. 47.

The Harrisburg, North Carolina-based team is still looking for its first Sprint Cup pole and victory, but has amassed eight top-five finishes -- its best, a runner-up finish by Ambrose in 2009 at Watkins Glen International speedway.
