‘Adam Richman’s Fandemonium’ debuts at Daytona
Popular 'Man v. Food' host premieres new series at the Great American Race

Adam Richman, best known as host of “Man v. Food” and “Man v. Food Nation,” returns to NASCAR as he premieres a new Travel Channel series on Sunday at 10 p.m. ET/PT: “Adam Richman’s Fandemonium.”

For the debut episode of “Adam Richman’s Fandemonium,” the host headed to Daytona International Speedway in February for the 55th running of the Daytona 500. He hung out with fans “to experience their ingenious tailgating and culinary creations first-hand,” according to the episode description.

The concept of the show is to go behind the scenes at major events to determine why diehard fans would quit their jobs to go to their favorite events, and it examines where the lines between hobby and obsession blur.

At Daytona, Richman visited some of the biggest RVs, a custom-built, 53-foot, converted tractor trailer, rode a motorized cooler and enjoyed some homemade apple pie moonshine.

In 2011, Richman welcomed NASCAR Sprint Cup Series driver Joey Logano to “Man v. Food Nation” and served as grand marshal for that year’s Sprint Cup race at Watkins Glen International. Before the race, he said, “…this notion of stock-car racing, I think it's the coolest thing ever because these are the same models we all can buy and drive. ... Despite the varied heritage of some of the drivers, which also is cool, this sport is distinctly American and there is nothing quite like coming to an event like [Watkins Glen] and seeing it in person…”

In NASCAR.com’s Six Pack of Pop, Richman also noted that the 2011 event wasn’t his first exposure to NASCAR. He also appeared in a Bank of America commercial as a Kasey Kahne fan.
