In addition to the expanded field of 16 drivers, the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup will get some extra starpower when it starts on September 14.
On Saturday night, 18-year-old pop star Austin Mahone and NASCAR Nationwide Series Sunoco Rookie of the Year contender Dylan Kwasniewski announced Mahone would perform before the race, give the command to start engines "and Dylan's going to show me around the world of NASCAR," said the singer of hit "Mmm Yeah" who has a new EP, "The Secret."
Chicagoland Speedway also unveiled a special ticket package for Mahone's fans. Click here for more information.
It's not Mahone's first time with a NASCAR star. Last summer, he helped NASCAR Sprint Cup Series driver Martin Truex Jr. and Ryan Seacrest open Seacrest's studio at Levine Children's Hospital in Charlotte, North Carolina.
