As part of a visit ahead of next month's Nationwide Series race at Richmond International Raceway, Brendan Gaughan was at Washington Redskins training camp in Richmond, Virginia on Monday.

Gaughan was a standout placekicker in high school and earned All-Conference honors as a kicker on Georgetown University's Division I-AA football team years ago. He laced up his kicking shoes for the first time in roughly seven years to kick some field goals and extra points.

In the meantime, his NASCAR career has gone well as he has eight NASCAR Camping World Truck Series wins and he scored his first NASCAR Nationwide Series win at Road America in June.

Gaughan thanked the Redskins and kicker Kai Forbath (#2 in the photo) on Twitter afterwards.
