It certainly wasn't easy -- Tim Richmond, Cale Yarborough and newly inducted NASCAR Hall of Famer Bill Elliott all led at least 94 laps to Dale Earnhardt's 26 -- but "The Intimidator's" victory in the 1986 Coca-Cola 600 was certainly worth it.

Breaking through for his first 600 victory -- his first Charlotte Motor Speedway win came in October 1980 in the National 500 -- Earnhardt bested a crowded field full of big names such as Yarborough, Elliott, Darrell Waltrip, Rusty Wallace, Terry Labonte, Richard Petty and Bobby Allison to extend his points lead to 144 over Waltrip.

To commemorate this momentous occasion for the NASCAR Hall of Famer, Richard Childress Racing tweeted a photo from Senior's Victory Lane celebration for Throwback Thursday (#TBT). Be sure to tune in to this weekend's running of the historic event, live on FOX at 6 p.m. ET on Sunday.

NASCAR Illustrated also Tweeted out a few pictures of its July 1986 issue that showed Earnhardt and a younger Richard Childress celebrating.

Honorable mention:

Dale Earnhardt Jr. gave us another look into his childhood, this time from Halloween 1979. The image shows he, cousin and former crew chief Tony Eury Jr. and his sister Kelley Earnhardt Miller all dressed in their Oct. 31 garb.
