Danica, Stenhouse Jr. win 'Best Couple' award
Dynamic duo tops 'Year in Sports' poll on USAToday.com

Well, there you have it, folks.

It's been confirmed -- Danica Patrick and Ricky Stenhouse Jr. are the 'Couple of the Year' as chosen by a USA Today 'Year in Sports' poll.

Coming in with 30 percent of the vote, the two Sprint Cup Series rookies bested other powerhouse duos in golfer Tiger Woods and World Cup skier Lindsey Vonn, three-time NBA scoring champion Kevin Durant and two-time WNBA champion Monica Wright, two-time Olympic gold-medal soccer player Abby Wambach and U.S. soccer player Sarah Huffman and two-time major champion golfer Rory Mcilroy and former No. 1 women's tennis player Caroline Wozniacki.

Patrick and Stenhouse Jr., the 2013 Sunoco Rookie of the Year, will be looking to move up in the Sprint Cup ranks in 2014 now that they each have a year of premier-series racing under their respective belts.

In one of the closest votes in Year in Sports, the NASCAR duo benefited from the sport's massive social media presence. Danica and Ricky edged out what was our initial favorite in Tiger Woods and Lindsey Vonn. The story of these two, who not only are dating, but competed for NASCAR's Rookie of the Year Award and on the track every single week, was a popular one both in and outside of racing.
