Robertson family holding several honorary positions for Duck Commander 500
The Robertson family of A&E's "Duck Dynasty" fame will have a prominent role in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series' Duck Commander 500 at Texas Motor Speedway.
In addition to the race bearing the name of the family's brand of best-selling duck calls, the Robertson family will have a variety of honorary race distinctions.
The patriarch of the family, Phil Robertson, will be the honorary starter and wave the green flag from the flagstand. His brother, "Uncle" Si, will be the grand marshal and say the most famous words in motorsports before the race gets underway on April 6 at 3 p.m. ET (FOX).
Willie Robertson will welcome the crowd to the track and will have a post-race role while presenting the wooden boot trophy in Victory Lane. Willie and his 16-year-old daughter, Sadie, will deliver the invocation. Jase Robertson will introduce the top 10 Sprint Cup Series drivers and his wife Missy will sing the national anthem. Jep Robertson will be in one of the Chevrolet Camaro pace cars to lead the field to the green flag.
"Like everything our family does on the show and in business, we strive to bring families together, and that includes our own," Willie Robertson, CEO of Duck/Buck Commander, said in a release. "So when we made the decision to sponsor the Duck Commander 500, we knew it would be a Robertson family affair. We think it will be a lot of fun and make for a memorable weekend with a variety of interactive Commander events taking place."
Willie Robertson and his wife, Korie, were among several celebrities on hand at the track for last week's unveiling of Big Hoss TV, the world's largest High-Definition LED video board.
