The orange-haired cartoon face on Danica Patrick's No. 10 GoDaddy.com car won't be the only man smiling at the Sprint Cup Series driver this weekend. During an appearance on Comedy Central's "The Colbert Report," host Stephen Colbert offered Patrick a sticker of his face bearing a goofy grin for placement on her car at Richmond International Raceway.
"I feel like GoDaddy would be so happy when I perform well after walking by my car and being put in such a good mood when I see this face," she said before imitating the sticker's smile. Later, Stewart Haas Racing sent the follow tweet showing the decal on Patrick's signature, lime-green Chevrolet:
A representative for the No. 10 team confirmed that Colbert's beaming face will take to the track with Patrick on the C-post of the car.
Colbert also asked the Sunoco Rookie of the Year contender about her pre-race routines ("I eat a lot," Patrick said), why cardio is important in racing and how the professional driver handles everyday traffic.
"I'm always told to relax, not rush, calm down," she said of her street driving.
More seriously, Patrick addressed what it was like to be a female in racing and the kind of role model she hopes to be for young kids.
