It's time for all you "Achy Breaky Heart" fans that love NASCAR to get excited because Billy Ray Cyrus will be performing the pre-race concert before the Sprint Cup Series' Auto Club 400 at Auto Club Speedway on March 23.
The Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter will perform on the O'Reilly Auto Parts Fan Zone main stage before the race.
Cyrus, who starred alongside his daughter Miley in the Disney Channel series "Hannah Montana," has a new single out called "Hope Is Just Ahead." The song, written by Cyrus, features Grammy-winning vocalist Dionne Warrick and is currently #60 on the A/C radio chart. A portion of the proceeeds from "Hope Is Just Ahead" will go to "Do The Write Thing-National Campaign to Stop Violence". That organization helps create awareness to students and prevent violent behavior in school systems before it escalates or even begins.
Cyrus' remake "Achy Breaky Heart Pt. 2" with hip hop artist Buck 22 entered at No. 80 on the Billboard Hot 100 and hit No. 11 on Hot Rap Songs last month. The original song was released in 1992 and led to Cyrus being nominated for a Grammy and several country music awards. He won a Country Music Association Award for Single of the Year in 1992 and an American Music Award for Favorite Country Single in 1992. Both awards came for "Achy Breaky Heart."
Cyrus has sold 25 million albums internationally and has had three No. 1 singles in his recording career.
