RELATED: Gordon's drive keys strong start, lofty goals
On Monday, four-time NASCAR Sprint Cup Series champion Jeff Gordon and wife Ingrid Vandebosch put their daughter Ella Sofia behind the wheel of a quarter midget for the first time and shared the images on Twitter.
The current points leader told Larry King last month at Auto Club Speedway, "We're probably going to put my daughter in a quarter midget soon," and Monday was the day.

"My family helps motivate me as well," Gordon told King. "Having two young children, I want to see them experience racing or sort of me see it through their eyes and make them proud."
As Vandebosch tweets here, Gordon is proud of his daughter.

If these pictures are any indication, it looks like the apple of Gordon's eye doesn't fall far from the tree when it comes to passion for racing. Perhaps Ella Sofia, who will turn 7 years old on June 20, will be in the NASCAR Next Class of 2025 when she will turn 18.
