On the 14th anniversary of his first NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at Sonoma Raceway -- June 25, 2000 -- Dale Earnhardt Jr. tweeted about an incident that could make for interesting conversation around the water cooler at the Hendrick Motorsports' 48/88 shop.
On the next-to-last lap of the race, Earnhardt Jr. took out his frustrations on the No. 9 Melling Ford, crew-chiefed by Chad Knaus. Earnhardt Jr. brought home his No. 8 Chevrolet in 24th. Knaus finished 31st, but he wasn't done with Dale Jr., as the driver notes in the tweet below.
Funny Sonoma story from years ago. I'll never forget this moment for as long as I live. Wonder if Chad remembers? pic.twitter.com/UrpjbKy4C7— Dale Earnhardt Jr. (@DaleJr) June 25, 2014
