Hold your horses, 'Smoke is the Bandit', there's a new
sheriff spoof video in town.
"Wherever there's a race track, you will find us. Wherever there's a checkered flag, we'll be there. Whenever the rubber hits the road, you will find … The Racing Cowboys!"
In a hilarious trailer that surfaced online late this week, 2012 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series champion Brad Keselowski, Joey Logano and Ryan Blaney -- otherwise known as the stable of drivers that share the No. 22 Team Penske Discount Tire Ford Mustang in the NASCAR Nationwide Series -- have rebranded themselves as "The Racing Cowboys."
A play on the 1986 cult classic '¡Three Amigos!' starring Steve Martin, Chevy Chase and Martin Short, the drivers shot a series of videos while in Phoenix two weeks ago in a promotion for Discount Tire and Pick22toWin.com. The trailer itself was comedic gold, so you'd have to think the videos to come will be just as good, if not better.
With quotes from Keselowski like "Butter my butt and call me biscuit!" and "Well, that beats anything I ever helt, felt or smelt," you can't go wrong -- we're lying in wait for the classic 'Amigos' line: "You son of a motherless goat!"
If you've ever wanted to see what these drivers are capable of while riding a different type of mustang with significantly less horsepower, then look no further.
Oh, and just for the record, '¡Three Amigos!' hit theaters four years before Logano was born and seven before Blaney was. It's nice to see the classics given their due by a younger generation.
