Girlfriend's pooch nips at heels of six-time NASCAR Sprint Cup Series champion
After sweeping both NASCAR Sprint Cup Series practices and winning the NASCAR Nationwide Series Sta-Green 200 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway with a perfect driver rating, Brad Keselowski had a pretty good Saturday.
"'Ay yi yi yi yi yi!' Barking, growling, telling him, 'Get out of here!' And she was ready to nip at his heels.
On SiriusXM NASCAR Radio after the race, he admitted to something that didn't make him proud, but did make him laugh on Friday.
His girlfriend, Paige White, was walking her dog, Tess, while Keselowski was practicing his Nationwide car. Six-time NASCAR Sprint Cup Series champion Jimmie Johnson was jogging by the dog when Tess took off after him.
"I think it's just animal instinct when somebody runs, you think something is going on and so it piqued her attention, and she went chasing after Jimmie," Keselowski said. "So here's this little fluffy white dog chasing full speed after Jimmie, ready to kill him. And Jimmie, in his perfect runner form, perfect stride, and this dog chasing him.
"'Ay yi yi yi yi yi!' Barking, growling, telling him, 'Get out of here!' And she was ready to nip at his heels. I can just picture him with his feet up in the air, high-stepping away from my dog."
Keselowski said that the dog "was just dead tired" on Friday night. "Maybe because she got yelled at. But she was laying in the corner, underneath my chair, where you could barely see her and I took a picture of her and put it on Twitter with the caption, 'She says she's sorry, Jimmie.'"
Haha! She was going to take me down, all 3 pounds of her. @keselowski— Jimmie Johnson (@JimmieJohnson) July 12, 2014
"A couple of the crew guys thought it was a great story and they were proud of her, but I wasn't so proud of that story," Keselowski said. "It was funny."
