The veteran of a combined 60 starts in the NASCAR Nationwide Series and NASCAR Camping World Truck Series took the track in a modified car decked out like the famous No. 95 Piston Cup champion in the Disney franchise.
Racing runs in the family as his son Camber stood in a tire while daddy practiced.
Gale reported on Twitter that the motor had a miss in the first practice and required the team to change "everything." Unfortunately, he continued to have engine issues and wound up starting 38th and finishing 32nd in the 39-car race, which can be seen Sunday, Aug. 31 at noon on FOX Sports 1.
In addition to his lone national series win, Gale also has one pole in the Nationwide Series and one in the Camping World Truck Series poles, and both were earned on the .533-mile high banks of Bristol.
