By now, we all know that Dale Earnhardt Jr. is a full-time NASCAR superstar, part-time superstar BBQ pitmaster.

Thus, it shouldn't come as any surprise that the Hendrick Motorsports driver was up early on Saturday morning to prep for a full day of smoked meat glory ahead of his hometown Carolina Panthers playoff matchup against the reigning Super Bowl champion (and teammate Kasey Kahne's favorite squad) Seattle Seahawks.

What should come as a surprise, however, is the fact that with very little prompting -- i.e. a fan just asking -- the two-time Daytona 500 winner shared the secrets to his BBQ success.
